Changed the oil, I might have left the old oil in for longer than I'd normally like (but still well under half what JLR say,,,

Fitted new N/S headlight to the 530D. Lots of fixings for bumper, arch liner etc to remove and one awkward barsteward fixing on the rear of the unit, the other three easily accessible.

Gave the Yeti a good clearout driving to Kiddy for the NSRA Big Brunch local hot rod run, couple of good 70mph bits of duel on the way so hope the DPF had a dump! Was good with 30? hot rods and customs and the unveiling of a new FED (front engined dragster ) All you could eat buffet breakfast as well!!

Changed the battery in the Merc. Stop/Start hasn't worked for months (good!) but it started throwing ABS, TPMS and ESC fault codes last week. Stop/Start now works (Booooo!) and no more trouble codes (yet).

But  - What a PITA getting the battery retaining bold in. Couldn't have designed it any worse if they had tried. In the end gave up with the original Merc bolt and put a longer VX bolt in. Then shut the bonnet on the old bolt, and broke one of the bonnet spring things :(. New one ordered off eBay.

Drove it to the East Riding of Yorkshire, not far from Filey. The motorways were chockers with slow moving traffic so I just tootled along.  :)

must be a merc thing then. My ML's main battery is under the driver's seat & the carpet will need cutting .... not sure if the seat will have to come out (it did on my R Class) & the aux battery is in the boot area which means the spare wheel well has to come out to get to it.

Finally got some new rubber on the back.  Its much less of a handful coming off roundabouts now :)

Treated it to a complete set of new wheelbolts, as I couldn't remember which ones I'd already changed.  The JLR ones are shite. Like really shite.  Really, really shite.  That useless scottish idiot Callam has a lot to answer for.
