Elite or standard seats?

From what I can see, they are the same irrespective of seat type for facelift cars. I will have a couple spare from Elite seats and CDX sests if any use to you. I can physically check the bolts on fully electric Elite seats, and also on CDX manual seats with electric height adjustment just to confirm whether they're the same or not.
I believe they should be M10 x 42 with a torx cap head?

Elite driver seats require longer bolts.  :-X

What colour is the threadlock on the old bolts?

Many thanks Al and johnnydog, will sort something with either of you.And to help out on that size I'll take one off the car in the morning to check it (should have done it today) before it peed down ::)

The bolts are identified by the colour of the threadlock ring. Choice is blue or ruddy. If memory serves, the ruddy ones are the longer Elite ones.

I have five of them with the blue threadlock if required  :y

If you do that, you ought to be able to buy the bolts you need from a local supplier tomorrow with no hassle. Allen cap heads ought to do, if the heads fit in the runners and clear the slides.

M10 sounds too big to me, I would have thought they're more likely to be M8. Hell, four M6 bolts would be good enough for a seat, but you are stuck with the original captive nuts.

When I had the front seats out of my 2002 3.2 Elite last year, the seat runner bolts definitely had blue thread lock on them - certainly NOT a 'ruddy' / pinky shade.

You'll note that I started with 'IF'  ::) The colours 'MIGHT' be the other way around.

I raise the difference because I don't have the other to confirm which is which. It only affects the drivers seat. But I am not going to buy another Omega to look. :-X

The relevant seat rail bolts may actually be 90482552 which are M8 x 30, not the previous ones I described, but it will help to identify them when you have retrieved an original.

Sucking eggs and all that.

As these are thread locked, I would recommend hitting the bolt a few times. I normally use a punch and whack it with the hammer away from the torx slot. This cracks the thread lock and allows for easier removal.

Whipped the the other rear bolt out, no evidence of Loctite on the bolt.....but bolt measures from tip to tail at slightly less than two inches in the old money :-\

That will be a whole number in mm ;)

Do you mean the threaded section or the whole thing? :-\

You measure the threaded section.

An M8(1.25 pitch is implied) x 20 bolt will be longer by the thickness of the head. One that's a lot longer won't be threaded along its entire length, as you shouldn't have the thread inside the parts you're joining - critical bolts, like headbolts, bearing caps, suspension parts are like this.

O.K, if all else fails, I have found Westfield Fasteners who appear to have a good range of Torx bolts etc. Might be a bit of a crap shoot on the correct sizing, but they sell them in packs of five for around £3.50. So could order  two or three  different size packs  and with luck :-\ ....but only if I can't resolve it on here. :y

If they are the standard bolts. I'll send you a couple. I was waiting to see if you needed the longer (which I don't have).

If they are nearly 50mm in length then that would be the same as the one I removed this morning, and to me they must be the longer version....but someone may come up with the answer to that....fingers crossed :y

The short (blue) ones are 30mm from the back of the head...

With the longer bolts fitted, was the drivers seat secure?

Checked them, all OK,but it was the MOT man who found the missing one last week.....he was not happy >:(  and this is  all because the welder couldn't be arsed to put the seat back correctly. So as I pointed out to Nick, I've found a company up in Aylesbury that stock M8 Torx cap screws in 5mm increments right up to 50mm in stainless. Still a bit unsure which will be the right size ..perhaps the 35 and 40mm :-\

Surely you can find a fastener supplier nearby? One that you can drive to? If you could use hex head bolts, I'd expect to buy enough for both seats for a quid.

I would only use stainless if I couldn't get anything else.

Non Elite seats looks to be 30mm (plus head) ;)

Ping me you address and I'll post all the ones I have over :y

The Elite and CDX seat bolts are the same length in both my breakers - 30mm - so as said, there is only one bolt for all models, NOT different lengths. The EPC confirms one seat bolt length
M8 x 30 for all models as well....

Al's sending me a couple, but I'm going to take all the bolts out on both seats and take a look at them.....just to see wether they are bodged. Can't see that, but the cars interior was changed way back before I got it and I think just for arguments sake it needs to be bottomed out. So thanks for your advice and if I get stuck I'll give you a shout. :y

That must be why I needed longer bolts to retrofit the Elite drivers seat in my ex plod then...  ::)

11093931 (nls)
13112808 is the part number for the M8x42 bolts used on electric seats with memory...

You always have to have the last word ......except of course in the instances where you are shown to be actually wrong, and remarkably then you go quiet and don't respond, with no acceptance that you might actually be (God forbid) incorrect......
With an attitude like that, I'm surprised people ever to return to this Forum...... I am a member of two other Forums, and I have never experienced anyone as abrupt and condescending, with new members searching for advice being regularly 'put down' quite embarrassingly so.
To try and assist another member, I removed the two seat rail to floor mounting bolts on a Elite and a CDX, to establish whether they were the same length or different, and posted my findings on here. The fact is that they are the same length - well the proof is in the four bolts in front of me.... actually owning an Omega to physically check these queries is beneficial, of course...
So, obviously, the bolts for the front seat height adjuster motor (11093931) are the same bolts for the seat runner / rail to floor mounting - obviously....
And, yes, I can read....and no, I don't claim to know everything....
