Promised wifey i would get the garden done for her this year...(not finished yet ::) ) so built the pond and a nice outside log burner in front of my old office (shed) great hides the shed when all plants start to grow.

The shed was converted into two areas one with all our personal stuff in behind the pond with a single door now removed  :y the other accessed by a double door which has timber rack and tools etc but i found if i removed a small shelf unit i could still squeeze into the personal side of the shed from the tool side result as the shed is absolutley full ( house refurb on going)

Thought we would set up the BBQ last weekend only been in the box for 4 years wehey wedding gift etc its stored in the personal side of the shed and its to big even out of the box to fit through the opening. Now got to empty thewhole contents of one side of the shed to get the damm thing out

Pre Planning is everything :-[ :-[

General Discussion Area / insurance claim problem
« on: 25 April 2012, 20:51:43 »
Hi all wifey had her car broken in to friday night it was parked around the corner from us as no room on drive and double yellows outside house.

police turned up and alerted us sat morning they had smashed the passanger window and found the sat nav which was under the car seat, there was considerable other damage as well as screwdriver marks and scrathces to the front window side frame and around the door glass. Car is a megane convertable metal roof type.

the other damage was some big scratches on the actual passanger door panel and a large scratch which runs front to back of the car on the drivers side apart from other possible age related dings and small scratches nothing stood out.

the police said there had been a spate of breakins with vandalisim etc everything noted on report

car was uplifted to secure storage then to repairing garage recomended by insurance co

i phoned the garage monday to make sure they had the car etc and spoke to the guy doing the estimate explaining the areas of damage to my suprise he said he did not think they were associated to the break in but would put them on the estimate with comments

the assesor says from thier recomendations and his experience he will only authorise repairs associated to the now named attempted theft any scrathces will not be repaired unless i make a seperate claim 3 claims in his opinion 1 for attempted theft 2) vandelisim side scratch and 3) large scratch to passanger door acceident damage

i stated that no repairs should be started unless it was to the full damage on it goes plus more

any suggestions i am going to put things in writing to the insurance company tonight broker direct i do not see the point of only repairing half the car surley if i need to fight the case then it is bettert o do so with the full damage visible. the police certainley did not think all the damage was not assoicated

General Discussion Area / even the police have customer surveys
« on: 21 April 2012, 12:16:10 »
wifey just had her car broke into last night did quite a bit of damage unfortunatley ,anyway we must have one of the most approachable and politest policeman in the area

very good with wifey etc top marks

at the end of all the reports etc he produced a cutomer survey card to fill in etc. wtf why do we put the police in the line of fire you could put what you wanted to on the form and get the bloke in some trouble

addmitedly not always a fan of the police more to do with individuals than the police as a whole.but do they really need a customer survey that can be so open to abuse and missuse

bit of advice please and no not visit the sales manager with a base ball bat well not yet anyway

traded my van in with pentagon for a new one all done over the phone to the sheffield branch......coup[le of weeks before trade in i noticed a dent in the side of my van nothing serious could be pushed out rough quote £60-£70 apart from that pefect van 3 year old 10k miles etc

when i arrived to collect the van the new one was damaged two large scratches that were down one side which had been filled with wax in a poor attempt to disguise.

cut a long story short after a lot of BS i found a van identical in thier showroom and after some debate they rergistered it which took all day.

the deal was i got the new van on finance deposit was vat plus deliv charges etc after settling my trade in vans finance i should get cash back of around £1400 simples......

the cheque was not ready some excuse about the order form etc plus now they found a dent in my trade in van they need to establish a cost to deduct after much inspection by thier bodyshop mamnager they agreed that the £60-£70 was a fair estimate....result ...no they needed thier dent repair man to look at the van the following day so like a dummy as time was getting on i left with the new van with the promise that my cheque would be in the post

2 weeks later i am still waiting for them to agree the cost let alone issue me my cheque. heard all the excuses from they changed the dent company they use to he turned up but did not have the tools all desapite having thier own on site body shop and dent repair team ( saw the van whilst i was there)

i have sent several emails confirming the situation.

my own fault for leaving the showroom without my money but it was a long eventfull day...got to check monday if they have sttled the finance on the trade in van

any advice ie 7 day notice etc :y

the old boy 2 doors down had a very lucky escape a couple of days ago.we live on a very busy main road

he was tinkering with his car as it was ticking over he half climbed in to turn something on accidently knocked it into gear as he struggled to get in the car to push the brake pedal he hit the accelerator

the car reveresed off the drive at considerable speed with him half hanging out the car, missing his brick pier gate post a lamp post across two lanes of traffic without hitting anything by this time he was hanging out the car with his feet traped in the pedals his head bumping the tarmac

fortunatley the car stalled as it hit the fence of the house across the road

thankfully he was ok well very shaken with cuts to his head so kept in hospital over night

poor bugger all was worried about was his car....the guy across the road was just worried about his fence the knob did not even come out to help

quite supprissing nowadays how many people do not help another very sad by all accounts

General Car Chat / van blues
« on: 05 March 2012, 22:02:58 »
well the day arrived to trade my van in was up at sheffield bright and early 7am at pentagon vauxhall... and low and behold on the forecourt was the new van looked good apart from the huge staple in the back wheel and the tram line scratches all the way down one side that had obviously been unsecesfully filled with wax >:( >:( >:(

after listening to all the excuses they offered to spray it :o :o fortunatley sherlock holmes managed to find exactly the same van spec and colour hidden in a corner of the showroom :y :y bloody huge showroom.

several more excuses that were not accepted and the van was being registered as i waited

what a performance left home at 3am got home at 9pm got there in the end

would imagine there is a very cheap 1 owner movano with respray for sale soon

wow been a busy week aniversary coming up, new van ,work problems, etc

spoke to wifey last week laid out some plans ie dinner visit the mother in law ( wifeys off all week) celebrate  :o :o aniversary etc no problems

annivesary day is thursday, van collection day is thursday in sheffield not a problem last week

being a typical knob with low post count sat here earlier discussing route and time to leave so we get to sheffield stop at the mother in laws on way back etc........the look starts to appear on wifeys face then the eyes the clenched lips tapping of feet........silence

was it something i said i mean who would not want to drive to sheffield at 4.00am pick up a van drive back ok mother in laws hmmm and on our 4th aniversary....what a lucky girl :y

even doggy gave me the look bloody giraffe ( greyhound)

this was all agreed last week so there is no way i am going to be the one to change my mind

thats why we are going out for the day shopping (Not sheffield) on thursday nice dinner and  :-* :-*

then spend all day yes all day with the mother in law on friday

could the changing of womens minds be linked to the weather, position of the moon, :D :D :D
