Had a read about the new qashqai e-Power this morning, seems a bit of a con. Engine constantly charging a battery which powers a motor which drives the front wheels. The manufacturer blurb says 55mpg and 1000km from a 55 litre tank of petrol. The reviewer in this report got only 35mpg, admittedly with snow and ice on the roads. But my 1.6 diesel will get 1000km from a 55 litre tank so, at well over £30,000, you'd have to very concerned about what does/doesn't come out of the tail pipe :

Still probably preferable to the horrible CVT gearbox the owners have to suffer in Nissan products  ;D

I still have a Range Rover L322 itch, and I'd better scratch that itch soon before they get too old and knackered!  ::)
Me too!  But when I used to nick joshwyatt's ones, they were always too big for my drive!

He's still being a useless student. Drives around in a petrol Beemer currently, so we can thank Mayor Khan the Khunt for making him see the light and stop using a battlebus ;D

I intend to keep my Omega going until I go!

But, if things didn't work out, and I came into £10 - 20,000, a Bentley Continental.  Always wanted one as a child - along with a  "Baby Austin 7 - and I still do.

NICE! :-* :-* :-* 8) ;D ;D
I nicked one of joshwyatt's one day, and the bloody thing wouldn't go in a straight line ;D.  Even at speed ;D.  Thing is, it didn't actually feel quick...   ...until you looked at the speedo.  Proper, effortless power but sadly no drama from the drivetrain (just the lack of traction).

No space in the back, Mrs TheBoy, who is a proper shortarse, didn't really fit in the back.

I imagine most of these old Bentley Continental will have been owned by footballists, before selling them on ::)

Check for used panties in the glovebox.

.

Those Bentleys do seem amazing value for money, just find an independent for servicing they are very tempting indeed.
It's a 17 year old Volkswagen. And an overcomplicated one even by their standards. You could expect to spend the purchase price again fixing it.

Essentially a Phaeton, I think.

I remember being somewhat underwhelmed by it. Although the under bonnet temperature after a run was quite impressive.

I can remember trying to keep up with one in my 24v Senator, but it just disappeared into the distance. Seemed pretty quick to me.  ???
