I use the Jabra at work and in the car, the unit is smaller than some others fits behind the ear and after a while you forget the units is there, the mike only extends just past the ear, so if your other half has longish hair the unit will not  be seen.

Thanks for all your replies, I will be giving the car a 140 mile round trip fortnightly to our sons house so fingers crossed that should help to remove all the condersation from the exhaust system, also will do the 3000 mile oil changes.

General Discussion Area / Omega goes into semi-retirement
« on: 19 October 2006, 22:22:54 »
Hi as from this evening my omega is in to semi- retirement, have not renewed a contract with a company that took me all over our county, will be doing 15 to 20 K less a year, am only working in our town area now, should be no more than 80 to 100 miles aweek. The omega has performed very well over the last year since I have owned it, lets hope she likes town work, will only be doing a long drive twice a month now when we go to visit our son and his wife. Question do they clog up with alot of town driving, I am thinking every other week should be okay on the long run to keep her running in tip top condition.

Have not driven the omega since last Saturday, have been using a Ford transit diesel all this week for work. This morning back to using the omega comfort zone also got to first junction and thought engine had stopped but no the rev counter was showing the engine was on. Apart from the load area of the transit I was impressed with the amount of fuel used over the week, but you cannot have everything.

They take two photos. The time is stamped on each down to the millisecond I believe. The time difference between the first and second pics is matched against the distance shown to have been travelled by you. It will show you were not speeding.

Thanks for your reply Finlay, in that case I know I will be way under the speed limit.

Hi thanks for your replies, must admit it was the BMW 5 series that has gone thru mind also, as Martin had it on his list. Will be interesting what our choice of cars are going to be over the next few years.Would be nice if they bought back the Omega.

As the omegas are not produced anymore, ie I am on a 2002 estate version, what would you say is the one to match it in comfort and style, the reason being all good things come to an end will only have a couple of more years with this car before trading it in. Have tried the merc's at the time when looking for the omega much prefere the omega so they are a no no for me. Am interested in other peoples views. If the omega was still made today it would be another. This question came up as my wife and I were driving home from our sons house from the weekend, she never liked the journey in our mondeo untill we bought the omega she now finds the 4 to 5 hours drive no problem.

General Discussion Area / Gave the omega a good clean today
« on: 10 August 2006, 19:56:31 »
Well had a day off today thought  the omega serves me well so I will put a bit back and make her gleam. Started about 9ish this morning and finished by about 3pm. Was not in a hurry, so enjoyed doing it. Right first thing was take the hoover to it no problem, then lifted the bonnet started to hoover in the engine bay ( I know you think I am mad) this what caused the stir, next door came out and started to take the rise out of me, then the bloke from over the road came out to join in the banter, saying they have seen it all now, the only thing i could say in my defence was such a clean engine bay should stay in that condition, so I think I saved a bit of face as they could see the bits of dust being removed. Next wash the car over and then started to polish her, I could not believe it another person from a couple doors up walked up my drive and said you must be selling the omega, the answer was no way, have taken a day off to put some time into the omega. Might next time take it to a valet to save all the nosey neighbours. But one thing I can say it has been a real nice time today cleaning the car and away from work, also with all phones at home switched of untill teatime.
