As far as I'm aware, there is only one idler.

Driver side has the steering box with pitman arm, passenger side has the idler arm. Between them is the drag link and a set of track rod off each end to the hub.

Items prone to wear:

Steering idler (notable vertical play when wiggling the wheels whilst jacked up) and wishbone bushes.

Track control arm and ball joint play is rare

Original equipment steering idler cost me £27 from ebay recently.

You are best not to get the pattern part that is a little less as steering is something I wouldnt want to chance plus, its a bit of a bugger to change.

i cant buy over e-bay and pattern part (not opel original) cost me 44 pounds, so i think in opel it would be at lest 2 times more.

another funny thing has happend to me in OPEL store guy on parts sad to me that he couldn't find in computer cam cover seal and that this part doesn't exist any more as stand alone, only with that plastic cover  :-? and that is 6x more money than only seal. wtf , he entered the part code in and computer redirect him to that set of cover and seal. they must be crazy  ;D

sorry to hijack thread for a minute but i didn't want to start another idler post :-X

My Mig failed the MOT today on excessive play in the steering idler arm, i've seen Mr DTM post a link to this :
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=230305502808 and i'll order it in a minute.
Question is, will i need the steering alignment set up again after i've changed the idler arm? :-?

the rubber bush on the left wears which causes too much play (movement) and then fails the MOT ;)
