Thanks so far, I would drive the car to the shops, come out and it would not start, so as with my other Omegas replaced the crankshaft sensor. I then did the pedal test and it came up with 10 flashes, 3 flashes, 3 flashes, 5 flashes.
That I took as a crankshaft sensor fault, so the damaged plug? is that a camshaft sensor? it does not affect the running of the car but it was fitted for a reason

Thanks, Mick

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / broken plug to ?
« on: 03 October 2016, 11:44:56 »
Hi, I have a Omega v6 2.6 elite 03 plate, she is immaculate. Automatic. A plug is broken in the engine bay. As you look at the engine from the front it is on the right hand side. the socket comes from the loom, the plug runs down the side of the oil dipstick, it disappears down the side. Can anyone tell me what it is for and where does it go at the lower end. I just replaced my crankshaft sensor, I now have the spanner in the roof come up. car runs fine, but it must do something. It has 2 internal spade connectors

Thanks in advance

Hi, and thanks for letting me in the house of these lovely but troublesome beasts.
I have had a few omegas and changed the crankshaft sensors on them all. Today the same again but I did a bit of damage. There is a plug that goes into a socket, it is located as you look at it from the front on the front right hand side. it goes into the socket which is in the loom. the wire runs down the engine next to the oil dipstick and disappears. any ideas what this is and what it does? I need to buy one.
Thanks in advance
