Serviced Mavis*. Or as much as I could... Found one of the holes was inadequately lubricated and so I'm now soaking it in lubricant to make it move more freely.

*The Civic. And it's a sticky brake slider. What did you think?!

Made a ply template for door glass on the Austin and then started to work out how the hell the Omega window mech will fit , not to bad as happens but have to find something to attach it to the glass . Should have kept some glass back when I scraped the doner

From what I remember, the Omega drop glass uses plastic wheels in channels stuck to the glass.

That's just like a Mini, and the parts are readily available at a price that makes messing about with them pointless: LINK

Harry Bucklands near Cheltenham , they remove all the fluids first before they get lined up. Full of French crap and Fiestas and Corsa's last time I went .

Replaced the spark plug tubes, did some engine cleaning and adjusted the handbrake on the Boxster.
Want to get it ready for MOT, and then the Omega is due oil and filters.

Ooo! Harry Bucklands. A good old scrapyard with plenty of cars and an extra bonus, all the cars are at ground level. ;)

Off to Keighley tomorrow for the oil pickup seal change, can't wait. I believe Keighley is in the running for city of culture 2023. I've had a quick look on Google maps and found three supermarkets and sixteen curry houses within 15 minutes of the workshop.

Did the next oil and filter change on the Alabama Mumsybus.

About 800 miles before the 5,000 interval I set myself, but new job next week is a 92 mile round trip so won't take long to hit the next 5,0000...

Only slight concern is that it takes 8.5 litres of oil and 7.25 came out... 250 ml every 1,000 miles isn't bad, but seems a lot.  :-\

Had a go at bleeding the brakes on the Austin, fronts blead fine but nothing coming out of rear at master. Piston must be stuck ,well it has been dry for a few good years. One last trick to try today if I can get a hand.

Just got back. New oil pump, pick up and seal, timing belt and water pump, glow plug number 2 and air filter. Said try and keep the revs down and drive below 55mpg for about 500 miles. Yikes!  :o
