Given the intermittent, though improving, fuel supply in these parts, and the fact that the BBP was a bit under half full, decided to fill it up.  Especially as I needed a receipt for some expenses.

I assumed that as I didn't actually need that much, I could dive into Sainsburys (no kiosk) and use Pay at Pump...

Fortunately it "only" took £95. But no bloody receipts, and any pump. Grrrr.

At ASDA there's a big, red telephone for emergencies. I've seen that used when no receipt was available  ;D

I've noticed since lockdown that whenever I use my card I'm asked " would you like a receipt" yes of course I would there's a lot of dishonest folk around & I like to check my credit card expenditure thoroughly when the bill arrives.

I always decline, unless I've bought something electrical or the like.

The idea is to check your expenditure on your phone app or log in to account  elsewhere   ;)

I always ask for a receipt. Then once a month tally them all up with online bank statement, to make sure everything is in order.

Just careful. Its too hard to accumulate it, without losing track of where its gone and why.  :)
