.... I've also still got a void bush puller! .....

My problem when the void bushes needed replacing on my MkIII was getting one of the top wishbone bolts out. It'd rusted itself in and was staying put. I ended up sawing it into 3 bits & drilling out the centre bit from the suspension on a radial arm drill. :( A new bolt in 1980 was something daft like £18  :o
I could've worked on that car blind fold - it always needed something doing to it.  ;D

Phrase nicked from another topic .....
This is the reason that the pancake race has been cancelled. Just replace US, from above, with UK. Wasn't there uproar the other year when it was suggested that an Armistice Day parade should be cancelled due to the same reason cited in the original headline ie cost of insurance & police

G'day
New to the forum today. I am currently living on the gold coast,           Australia. I drive a 3.8litre v6 commodore which is great. My question for anybody is.....moving to UK in April will I be disappointed with the Omega compared to the Commodore for comfort, power etc.
Thanks in advance for any comments.
I bet you'll find a big difference in the cost of running them both though.
What have you done that was so bad that they've sent you over this side of the world? ;) You'll be fighting your way through the crowd that's going in the opposite direction! :o  :y  :y

probably because we have a bigger carbon footprint ,apparently that is VERY important at the moment ;)

More like cos you have your (or some one you know) name & address on the front & back of your car, makes sending fine out to you a piece of p***. Cyclists however ........

i am going o sound old fashioned here and i make no apology for it....

When we were at school we were encourage to do cycling proficiency tests, these were a basic form of education and road craft for pushbikes.

HOWEVER...i believe that they also helped people when the came to driving motorbikes and cars, by riding on the road as cyclist they were more aware of the risks and were also more aware of cyclists.

I did one too, but there's a whole load more cars on the roads now.  Cycle lanes should be rubbed out/painted black again & given back for car use.  :o   :y Unless they are dedicated lanes away from the actual high way, ala East Lancs/A580 for those that know it. This accident proabably wouldn't have happened if cars & cyclist weren't trying to share the same bit of road.

Ahaa. You learn sumat new every day  :y

It was cos the P5 was such a big heavy car that the original straight 6 was a bit under powered for it, hence the need for something with a little more poke.
Had been trialed as a marine engine before Buick abandoned it.
Head of Rover wouldn't let them put it in the car but the engineers did anyway.
Took MD along motorway at speeds that would now be illegal.
MD impressed when he learned.
[smiley=thumbup.gif] Gave go ahead
Rest is history .... blah blah
