Blimey! I'd disconnected mine but never considered it could catch fire.

Wonder if I can unbolt it without having to take that retched wiper off again ...

doing this at the moment myself you need a steering wheel interface adapter which dnddave has on his site (around 30 quid) and then i believe it's pretty much plug and play oh and the stereo you buy  needs to have a remote function for this to be able to function. i have a pioneer fh-p80bt unit which is a blue tooth unit and plays mp3 so won't bother with a disc player will load all my music onto dvds and hit random or you can plug in an ipod but i don't have one of those!

yes i think you're right i probably use them more than i think and the positioning of the stereo inthe opel isn't the best so i have bitten the bullet and bought one €46.00 :( but i geuss it's a one off expense.

i just bought a pioneer fh-p80bt which i have yet to install unfortunately that is also stuck in blue but dnddave has clarion head units for 209 quid which look really good and you can choose the colour of the display, had i been in England that's what i would have gone for

thanks for the replies and advice i think i will start with the head unit as i like to carry more than one cd at a time and also would like someting that plays mp3 then will see how the speakers are,  once again thanks for the replies and must say quite a tidy fit you got in there have you managed to hook that into the steering wheel controls? and do you know of any after market stereos that you can do this with?

hi all i have a cd 2005 in my car and while the sound isn't brilliant all round, when i put it to back speakers only it sounds like it's playing underwater would this be a speaker problem or a unit problem, on a second thought does anyone have a good idea for an upgrade to this stereo, thanks, Rich

Omega General Help / Re: Suspension advice
« on: 07 September 2011, 20:59:44 »
i've got b'4's and irmschers all round on my estate and i've had an empty six pack sitting in the back left hand cormer for a week now and it hasn't fallen over, the amount of roll they've taken out is incredible and i've now polyed the front roll bar and wishbones and don't think there would be much more to do the b'6's are the proper sports shocks but i'm geussing they would ride pretty hard (and the price difference is staggering) i wouldn't want to take too much more "comfort"out of my suspension, with the poly's you certainly feel more of the road than before and i think i'm in the same boat as Jimbob and need a wheel balance as i get a bit of vibration at around 100 mph (on my German test track ofcourse!!)

oh when it rains it pours, when you had your fuel pump problem did you check for spark because if so maybe there's a chaffed wire leading up to the pack or bad connection, maybe a long shot but i would check the wiring before investing in a new coil pack

more of a question really than an answer but my 2.2 has a coil pack which is all 4 in a row which sits over the plugs so if one coil goes down is it possible to replace just the one or do you need to get the whole shabang?

pull out the ashtray and there is one screw in the middle which will allow you to remove the whole ashtray mechanism
