Much better this time round.
« on: 11 December 2019, 16:14:36 »

SWMBO & myself attended our speed awareness course this morning & I've got to say I really enjoyed it much more humorous than 10 years ago when I last attended one two excellent tutors, took SWMBO for lunch afterwards & then into Peterborough to choose her new watch for Christmas.
All in all a good day out.😎

Bargain day out course lunch & watch £647.00 easy to get on one just make sure you are travelling below 42mph in a 30mph limit otherwise it's points +fine 😆

Maths wasn't my top subject but even I know 47 is lower than 50 so I'm confused.  :-\

I towed a tourer for over twenty five years and it was always 50mph on single carriageways and 60mph on dual carriageways and motorways.  :-\

They recently upped it from 40 to 50 on single carriageway roads in a bid to ease hgv congestion...

One unexpected bonus is that it's now basically impossible to get done for speeding in a truck on any 50 or NSL road. Which is nice  :D

I've got to admit that when I did mine the tutors were in no way patronising, which is what I've heard some people complain about. My deafness prevented me from hearing what they were actually saying but what I did hear wasn't patronising or condescending.  ::) ;D
Glad you enjoyed your day out anyway.  ;D :y

No wonder you have done so many courses...   ::) Singles used to be 40 if towing ;D

......

Up until recently I was going to buy a Transit M Sport Combi van. The thing that fascinated me was that if I'd have got one with rear door windows I could go faster legally than if I'd bought one without rear windows. How does that work, the Combi has a bulkhead behind the rear seats on both models so you can't see shit through the rear anyway.  ;D

No wonder you have done so many courses...   ::) Singles used to be 40 if towing ;D

And dual carriageways were 50mph, they're just numbers, I'm sure they don't mean anything.  ;D

The same reason that a Toyota 4runner is a car, but a double cab Hilux with a bed top isn't  ;)

Car derived vans are clear cut, but van derived cars aren't  :D hence the 8 passenger seat limit for cars/B category licences  ;)

Not for a very long time ..... way before our time - even Barry's  ::)
When the powers that be up'd it to 50 from 40 for HGVs it was already 50 for caravans ...... a stupid situation where 3 classes of vehicle had 3 different limits.
