Apparently at his funeral next Saturday, Prince Philip will be carried to his final resting place in the Royal Vault in St George's Chapel, Windsor, in a hearse based on a Land Rover...... which he designed himself.  8)

Should be interesting!  ;D

Obviously no Omegas left, so he used 2nd best :)

Let's hope he doesn't mind the smell of EP90. ;D

I saw France has an app with about 200,000 registered for end of day surplus jabs from the many no shows. Seems a good idea to save on waste. Anything like that in pie and pint country?

A government sponsored IT project that delivers something useful, you mean? What do you reckon? ;D

makes the Omega's 23.4 MPG sound reasonable  :D

That doesn't sound like a "caning it round a track" figure to me. ;)

original pictures are of a Yaris.
This is for people who need a small car, and have better things to do than put any effort whatsoever into choosing, buying, owning and driving one.

these are most car owners, which is why Toyotas sell so well. Cars have been white goods since the Model T Ford - which is before white goods...... ;D

Anyone who thinks that a car is a status symbol, or gets excited about the waste noise from the engine is very peculiar.

True, but I still can't see why you'd buy something that has been so comprehensively engineered to eliminate any possible feelings of exhilaration.

Tequila and Diamond White slammers were the drink of choice at Uni on the evenings when it gets to about 10 PM and you think "I've got some catching-up to do here". A process which took about 30 seconds following a shot of that.. If it didn't bounce. :-X

What about offical JLR ones?  Although I would baulk at the 150 the dealer quoted me for a set, with discounts. Especially at the rate I get through them.

They certainly don't generate much dust, but the disks always looked really glazed, no matter how enthusiastically they were used. Hence mine currently wears a set of Mintex pads to restore the condition of them, and they have improved the pedal feel quite a bit.  :-\

Flavour? In Coke Zero?

Must have changed it since I last had any, as you say. ;)

0.0 surely.

Oh, no. We and the EU are going to agree to allow them to use the pound, apparently. :D

*Not that Apple use a UK layout on their UK keyboards. I mean, after all, life ends at the eastern seaboard.

WTF is a seaboard? Is it a bit like a sideboard?

There are guys on the RRS site who tinker around with quite new ones & give themselves in all kinds of problems , leave it to someone who knows what they're doing is my advice, if you can't afford to maintain them correctly steer clear.
So who's that? A main dealer? ;D ;D ;D

A situation not helped by the bonkers licensing rules which now incentivise towing with the lightest vehicle you can find. ::)

Should have a turn-out of all my Omega bits some time. Might be of use to someone now mine is long gone. :'(
Was thinking the same.

I have know I have some unused real saloon springs that will get donated to OOF to sell here to raise a few quid, and I believe I have to saloon roof rails that Andy B gave to me after mine melted that I'll do likewise with.

I must have boxes of stuff, though much of it used, just need to have a clear out.

A lot of mine went in the boot of my Omega when I sold it, but I keep coming across things. ;D

Well, this has been a useful exercise in that it prompted me to look at the plate on the XE.

When I bought it the "towing weight" advertised was 1800Kg, which seemed adequate so I didn't look further. That was probably a marketing figure, not aimed at a specific model.

Sometime after buying it I looked at the manual which showed the max train weight for my model as 3290Kg and the kerb weight as 1535, which means it's got to be unladen to get to 1755 Kg, let alone 1800!

Turns out, it's a misprint in the manual and the MTW is 3920! That's more like it.

Just goes to show, the best way is to check the plate on the vehicle. That's what the police will do in the unlikely event that they escort you to a weighbridge.

EDIT: Unladen and unoccupied, for that matter. Roll on driverless cars. :D

Well its a bit more "what are you doing today" but rang my local motor factors to get a pully for aux belt tensioner to use as a power steering delete and they would only sell complete tensioner so ordered one from the bay Thurs and it came in post yesterday!!! Brill service and 21. Now will be able to finish the mounting and work out belt size , have an old belt book with list of sizes and have a good idea of the one that will fit.

Was this a new pulley or used? Worth prising the seals out and regreasing it if it's used, as they do tend to dry out.

Should have a turn-out of all my Omega bits some time. Might be of use to someone now mine is long gone. :'(
