Good riddance to her.. but...

Way refused to comment as she left court, saying she had signed an exclusive television deal.

[toungue-in-cheek]

With any luck they will tie her down in the road while several cyclists ride over her while we all watch on the gogglebox over and over again... ::)

To listen to that silly cow, presumably. They must have reached the bottom of the barrel at last.

"Norwich magistrates convicted her of failing to stop after an accident and failing to report it, which she denied."

She was right to deny failing to report the accident, as she did..........              via Twitter!  ;) ::) ;D

ON a related topic, I see cyclists are calling for a ban on HGVs during the rush hour in London, but the last fatality happened in the middle of the day. ::)

Of course HGV drivers do make mistakes, but cyclists have to realise that passing HGVs on the left when they are turning left is a recipe for disaster. Also, looking at this piece:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-25007830

...why do some cyclists think they can ignore red lights?   >:(

But, all that aside, I'm, confused as to how you can knock a cyclist off his bike yet not be guilty of driving without due care and attention. :-\

Two things wrong with motorists and cyclists.

1. No one has time anymore due to the modern way of living to slow down and let the other go first

2. A lot of people seem to leave their brain at home(assuming they had one) when they use their transport.

I have a theory which I call Tip of the Iceberg. Basically the exposure of one person with this sort of off the planet view points to their being a significant amount of others sharing the same view/habits/doctrine out of a large population

Let alone when they use social networking, or their mouth, for that matter.

Yes, I'm sure this is just a little window into the mind of a lot of people today. "Me first! Everybody else can get rooted". It's clear that she's really only sorry that she was daft enough to tweet about the accident.

"I did not think he was injured - if I did I would definitely have stopped."

Didn't have the decency to take 1 minute out of her busy schedule to ASK if he was injured, then? Or simply to apologise?

Here is an (almost) bang on article about the cyclist/motorist debate!

http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/matt-glass/london-cyclist-deaths_b_4298701.html

The only thing I was would say differently is that I feel that there is no situation under which a cyclist should be allowed to run a red light.  Most of the time a cyclist can edge to the front at a red light and take primary position on the road until it is safe*.  If I cannot get forward I stay in my spot in the queue and take primary position.  It takes a bit of confidence but it is simple once you get the grasp.

IF and only IF they change the light sequences to allow cyclists to move off before motorists will it be ok to 'jump the light'.

*before you have a go this is a technique recognised by the RSPoA, Government Organisations and, crucially, the Police
