FWIW, my satnag is fine.

Have you ever tried it in Cornwall?
Mine only seems to use roads with grass growing up the middle. >:(

Discovered that, on a MY2017 car:

It has incandescent bulbs in the rear light clusters.
If one of the brake light bulbs fails, there's no bulb failure indication.
There are 2 brake light bulbs in each cluster, though, so no drama, surely?
.. Except that it disables the working one when it detects that the other one has failed. ::)

Filed under "words fail me". >:(
Mind you, they couldn't make the clock work properly either, or the sat nav. ::)

Clock is easily sorted with a BCM software update........as for bulb failure, its a discussion I have had with the BCM team a few times. I know the system has a stabilised supply to the lights (not the usual direct battery feed) and the 'view' was that the bulbs would last for many many years.......but of course they don't.

The other bulb should only be disabled if the first one fails such that it causes a short.

I have, and it was fine.  Better than me as it happens, as I chose to ignore it in Port Isaac, and ended up with less than a rizla between the rear wheel ache and a stone wall one side, and some scaffolding the other.

But mine is the older system, prone to butt frukkin' itself during map updates.  Fortunately, I worked out how to manually copy the map onto the drive, though it means removing the hard drive from the IAM.

As from green grass up the road, I drive for miles looking for those sorts of roads ;D

Green grass in the middle of the road is perfect for cleaning the sump pan on an Omega, assuming you're running the correct springs!

It was odd behaviour. The remaining bulb would light as you start it, then extinguish and stay off until the next start. I checked both bulbs with a multimeter and the faulty one was completely O/C by the time I'd got it out of the car. It may have shorted at some point but not badly enough that the other one didn't light although I can see why it might shut down the circuit in that case to protect other loads on the regulated bus.

Well! the old bus passed its MOT yesterday after a full 9 months sitting in the steam railway car park. Had to park it there because of flooding problems where I live. I have had one Omega written off already. I drove to the MOT station with the brakes on most of the way to clear the discs! Good result though.  :y :y

Today I parked on the flat. One rear wheel on frozen mud, and the other on sheet ice.
The traction control does not work in those circumstances.

The traction control does the tyres do not work in those circumstances.

Update on mine....

After making a makeshift shim to slide the seal on with, managed to get that to hold oil.

Top mounts changed and bump stops changed as well (main reason for mounts as damper boots were sitting on the shock body. Done all that to find the alternator is over hanging to 17A+ so that is also goosed.

Found another one in my collection which will be tried tomorrow. If not, new one coming.

Then, once that done, all codes to be cleared and then taken into work one evening to get re-geometried.
