Wanted Wheel nut covers (mods please move)
« on: 19 May 2020, 18:48:53 »

Hi can anyone spare me a few wheel nut covers/ I need 8. I assume the locking nuts take the same type?
(sorry should have checked before posting this)
There are plenty of new ones on ebay, but they all seem to be the larger type and won't fit the Omega wheels (facelift CDX/Elite)

Many thanks,

Graham.

Just Google “Vauxhall Omega wheel nut covers” and you will find a lot available. I go for the chrome finish ones, which if I recollect correctly without checking are 17mm ones.

As for locking wheel nut covers, I personally have never fitted those as I do not think you will find matching ones to the other covers.

Binned my locking wheel nuts a long time ago, but I seem to remember the cover for them is different to the others.

There are black covers and grey covers depending on model and age. The locking wheel nut cover is different from the standard wheel nut cover, and are not interchangeable. Personally, I have binned the locking wheel nuts - if they partially strip through careless or unnecessary removal or tightening with an air gun, then they are a nightmare to remove.
The number of cars now with alloy wheels doesn't make them an attractive proposition to go through the effort to steal them - and with the low numbers of Omegas now on the road, who would want to nick them anyway!!

Thanks for the replies folks.

Those ebay links are just the job. Not bad for under a tenner.

The comments regarding the locking nuts are food for thought. Once spent a very miserable afternoon chiselling off a very deep set locking nut on my Dolomite Sprint
(going back a bit now.)

I have to acknowledge that the idea of the alloys on a Omega being much of a target is a bit fanciful.

thanks again.

Graham.
