Bicyclists and motorbicyclists are actively encouraged to swerve around anything in the road that might make them fall off regardless of the fact that the reason they haven't spotted said anything is because they're either speeding/tailgating/filtering (whatever the fruck that's supposed to be...) and drivers are taught to expect all of the above and make allowances for all of it at the same time.
Yet...
If a car drivers even thinks to make such an avoiding manoeuvre they risk being prosecuted for careless driving with a ridiculous fine and potentially lose their licence. Presumably if you crash as a result of ripping a wheel off in a pothole the size of Birmingham whilst trying to avoid splatting a filtering motorbicyclist you get charged with careless driving for the whole thing.
I understand that being unlicensed and uninsured vermin, bicyclists are basically untouchable, but having presumably passed some sort of test aren't motorbicyclists held to the same account as any other driver

« on: 21 March 2024, 18:20:33 »Not in Barnsleywakefield they're not.I think our council tax came through the other day, £2800 I think, to empty the bins 26 times unless there is a hint of wintery weather...Forgot to put my garden bin out last night.
Now I have to waste a few hours bagging the contents and taking it to the tip.
Despite having to pay council tax of over £1600 pa ( which to me only covers having the bins emptied) we now have to pay extra (cant remember how much - circa £75 pa) to have our garden waste bin emptied.
Our green bin was around £40 since they started charging, but doubled this year, no doubt to help pay for the bone idle lame and lazy.
And, despite charging us 2800/26 = >£100 each time they empty our bins, they want to either half our bin sizes, or move to collection every 3 weeks. Knowing West Northants council, former South Northants council before they blew all their money on a new office block and went bankrupt, they'll do both.
Yep they can only be bothered to empty the bins once a month and the plebs are living in the potholes, but they have plenty of cash for rainbow pedestrian crossings which are spreading round the country like a rash!
Not yet, it will happen though as it's a box to tick. Every city, town, and village will have one eventually.

Looks like he wanted to change the wording of the constitution so as to be more gender neutral and inclusive.
Apparently words such as family, mother, and woman are outdated and offensive to some in 2024.
But fortunately the Irish people told him to go f*uck himself
He's probably got 'Big Winston' on speed dial so doesn't need to.

Yep we pay an extra £69.50 a year for the garden bin.

I've always chosen first. Never thought about putting my card in without pressing the buttons.
Andy might be right though, that if you just put your card in, the machine assumes your going to pay at the pump. Why else would you put your card in?

I have a can of petrol in my garage that must be 3 maybe 4 years old as it only gets used for my hedgetrimmer/brushcutter.
It doesn't seem to mind though.
