You'll be unsurprised to know both Amba's had facia clip damage ;)

Sorry but I take responsibility for damage on 1 as couldn't quite see how everything came apart on the first strip down, and the plastic is more brittle than...."A Very Very Brittle Thing" ;D

After that the 2nd unit was simple although the damage on that wasn't caused by me....honest guv ;D

Just need to get Bluetooth phone working again and job is jobbed...

TB...I assume wise to disconnect battery for 30 minutes or so and reconnect as Parrot Bluetooth isnt disabling radio as it did before and Parrot isnt even giving ring tone...googling suggest battery disconnect

It's good to know that some of my junk is useful rather than getting in the way :y

No issues to disconnect battery.

How is Parrot connected - does it intercept all speakers, or does it just feed in the audio to the NCDC?

If the latter, are you getting a msg on the CID indicating a call is in progress - cant remember if it says "Phone" or "External Audio".  If so, make a call and turn the volume up (the NCDC remembers each volume setting for each source)

Parrot wired in through plug wires behind glove box,and has functioned correctly for 4 years or so expect it’s a setting somewhere but can’t find it

Before would cut out NCDC as soon as started dialing number and “Phone” would appear on the CID ,now no recognition and nothing mutes down.

Will disconnect battery later and leave off for hour or so and see if that resolves things

For the love of all that's holy, don't tell me this NCDC has a fault....   ...and a fault I've seen before.  Your luck has to change soon, surely.

I seem to recall when I saw this before, replacing the back board in the top unit of the NCDC cured it, so if you get no joy with battery, try swapping that over.  The coding is in the front board, so no issues swapping rear board over.

Just had the battery disconnected for the past hour and when reconnected it made no difference.

Phone will pair with device as normal.Have un paired and re paired all is good there.
When call made NCDC doesn't mute down nor does any image of Phone appear on the CID.
When you request Parrott to give spoken volume or ring tone no sound is produced from speakers, but you can hear phone connecting to number dialed so fault isnt with phone.

Have tried 2 different phones and both will pair with Parrott as shown on screen display, but result above is the same from the NCDC.

I will have a close look at the Blue Box on the Parrott at somepoint possibly tomorrow just to check nothing has been pulled out although cant see how this could of happened as nothing other than Head unit and Screens were touched yesterday.

This back board...excuse my ignorance but is that located inside the Top part of the NCDC unit which runs the navigation. The board needs removing and the board from the other NCDC fitting in its place ?
Is this within my ability and is there anything I could opps up  :o

Correct on the boards.  There are 2 main boards on the top half (ignoring the CD mech, and the Nav receiver), the forward board is the "clever" one, dealing with anything that needs processing, and the rearward one that has the amps, inputs and so on.

You can change the rear one without worrying about coding.

Its in your capability, just take your time.  Make sure amp chip is properly secured so it can thermally transfer heat to the case...   ...not that it gets much of a thrashing on Bose cars.

Will have a look at wiring to Blue Box first ,although really cant see how that is the issue.

I will investigate inside the "spare" NCDC first to see what is involved and ensure I am ok removing it and then go from there..hopefully something will look favourably on this now and it start working as its 1 step forward and 2 back ,but heyho its an Omega ;D

Seen the mute problem on NCDC's before.

Assuming the back board is the part that is suspect,am I correct in understanding that if I remove this part from the original NCDC which worked on mute, and replace it into the new NCDC it should in theory waork as before and mute down the system for the phone to function ?

Just want to be crystal on what is involved  :y

I'm sure when I saw this before, swapping rear board cured it.  Obviously, not all faults are the same cause, so I can't guarantee it.

But no harm in trying, as long as you take your time :y
