Glad to hear you got there in the end. I imagine the holiday will be well worth the aggro, and the memory of the initial problems will fade as you enjoy your trip.  :y

Its so easily done, but the consequences are likely to be horrific. I shudder when I think of some of the things I did when I was younger and stupider.
Now, I make a point of stopping to have a think and inspect things before getting under a car.

Its either the Kosovans or the one bucket method, depending on how warm and dry it is outside.  Obviously, as the neighbours will attest to, it hasn't seen either since the beginning of December ;D

I am trying to find a decent valet bloke so that every 3 or 4 months it can have a proper bit of lovin', but no luck so far :(
Albs isn’t that far away and he loves doing it so much, he’ll do it for nowt.  :y

I have 3 cars here to take care of which is more than enough.  :P
Besides, after a few months of the one bucket method and the local Kosovan cowboys, it will take more than a proper wash to get rid of the scratches on the paintwork.  ::)
I'm hoping to do the full detailing job on my paintwork come the summer - and then probably flog the car for a lot less than it owes me.  ::) ;D

ianu is online. Ask him how to wash a car properly.  ;)

Chuck a couple of buckets full of soapy water over it. Sponge the dirt off.
Do the same with some clean water.
Use some glass cleaner on the windscreen.
Having spent ten minutes doing some real work, it's time for a beer.

They spray strong chemicals all over your paintwork to dissolve the dirt and then blast it off when its done the job. Not good for the paintwork at all.
Anyway, its a long British tradition for a man to wash his car when he has a day off work instead off getting under swmbos feet.  :D
A fiver is almost two pints at my club.  :)

You have got a club?  Is it like Lord Optis hellfire one?

Nope. The foundry I worked in closed down 29 years ago, but some of us have kept  workers club attached to it going ever since.  :y
It currently has approx. 50 members, but I'm one of three or four of those left who originally worked there.
I'm one of the youngsters !  :o ;D

I don't think its anything to do with the fling. They are kindred spirits. Disciples of hard line Marxist Socialism. Hate Western Capitalism, especially the UK and USA. And support anything or anyone who is anti British or U.S., from the IRA to Hamas. In days gone by we could have hung the bastards for treason, but weve gone all soft and fluffy since then unfortunately.

Does this apply in Germany ? If it does, they ignored it. When the going got tough, they forgot how to speak English.
Kept sending me messages in German that I had to attempt to translate. As you know, I struggle with English, so had close to no chance with German.
I told them that the mythical German efficiency was just that. I think they took offence. Certainly hope so.  ;D

The day I'm to lazy or unhealthy to wash my own car is the day I will investigate the things they call buses. :)
