HT Leads/poor performance
« on: 11 May 2009, 23:20:21 »

2.5 auto CDX - sluggish and thirsty- changed MAP sensor as wrecked old one, fuel up from 15 mpg to 25 mpg now, appears to run on 4 pots - but a few weeks ago checked spark on drivers side head with the 'flashing ht lights - all sparked- which presumably implies Dispack is working on all 3 coils - assume i have one or more ht leads down on passenger side head- anybody have any recommendations on best source for set of HT leads? ( have replaced cam cover gaskets with VX ones- and plug holes are now oil free - for last 1500 miles ) - used to get 35 mpg on a 200 mile M25 run - yesterday - 22 mpg and reduced power

unable to check fault codes today - as 'arceyed' myself whilst welding up garage door after it was broken into last week - obviously happens when one is away.

thanks for the previous - will try plug leads first  - spark plugs fitted when rocker cover gaskets/breathers were sorted  and idle valve cleaned - now ticks over at constant revs ( no hunting) - but still a bit of vibration at 2000 rpm under load - but has been like that for at least the last year ( before I had the car) - I've also washed the car as the rain wasn't wet enough
