New and unused Gates cambelt kit for engines up to 08300418, "EB" backing plate. Bought for my Estate but sadly scrapped last month. £70 delivered or collect for £60 cash from NG12.
Merv had a rough version of the original but now a fully edited version is available for the bargain price of £3, including p&p - with all money made going to the forum.
The DVD covers Strip Down, Locking Cams, Water pump, Cam timing, Tensioner and Reassembly.
Again, passenger seat fine, driver's seat touch and go.
Sitting still it works fine, leaning forward it cuts out (switch light goes out) and this will repeat a few times before the fuse blows. I assume that there is a break in the bottom pad - could it be repaired, joined or bypassed ?
Thanks for reply though I’ve done it the other way now.
My reasoning - if the sub frames arms were independent they would hinge in line with the arms but as they are linked, I assumed they would have to hinge in line with the car. :-/
When the maintenance guide talks of the solid part of the bush to the sides and slots to front and back – is this aligned/square to the car or the sub-frame arm (45 degrees to the car)?
The front of the bushes I’ve just removed pointed along the sub frame and so where at 45 degrees to the wheels.
Just for reference; I replaced my original back box with one from Eternalcar nearly three and a half years ago and it still appears fine. Yesterday I ordered a complete system (cats back) as my original centre sections have about had it. I expect to fit them next weekend and so will get a look inside the old back box then, but I don’t foresee any problems preventing it from having lasted at least four years, hence my decision to return to Eternalcar (coupled with the age of my car of cause ).
A lump of wood on the edge of the wishbone and a hammer did it for me. Had tried the car jack between wishbone and drop-link bracket on strut before that, but no joy.
