Hi Zirk. I haven't been to Epping Forest in years; where is that Tea Hut? Map reference/co-ordinates please.

There's an escape clause at the bottom of the subway ad. It says something like 'Our meat free meatball product may come into contact with non-vegan products'.
Hmmmm....

Last time I bought a packet of KP Salted Peanuts there was an EU Directive Warning on the Pack that said "May contain Nuts"
Talking of Nuts do we get our Marathon Chocolate Bar back now.

Talking of Brexit, it just hasn't sunk in with some people, has it? There are two silly old duffers on the news now, both about to become ex MEPs, saying that they hope there's a chance that they may be able to, once again, sit in the European Parliament at some point. What?

It's nearly 40 years ago now since it was re-named :o

Google says it was 1990 .. which makes sense, since I clearly remember Marathon bars (I'd have been 12) but only vaguely remember the half penny (1984, when I was 6)
Not that 1990 feels 30 years ago. But it was. :o

We had half penny chews in the school tuck shop 8)
Don’t recall the date, but there came a point when they would only sell them in pairs... ::)

I obviously did it wrong as I found 1981 .... but I was on my phone.
I mentioned the half pence to a young lad at work ..... he hadn't been born when they went out of circulation which was probably why he couldn't remember them. Whereas I remember using the old pre decimal ha'penny ;D

Decimal Day in the United Kingdom and in Ireland was on 15 February 1971
You old bugger! ;) ;D

Yes it was, and that was because Mars, a major American company, wanted Marathon the British version of Snickers, made at their plant in Slough, to conform with the global market.
Mars UK, as a branch of Mars in America, will always be led by the parent company so Brexit will make no difference at all to their brand name policy. Although there was a recent trial in Morrison supermarkets of a temporarily rebranded Snickers bar back to Marathon, there is no evidence to suggest this is anything but some form of promotion gimmick. ;)

Decimal day was 1971 but the 50p piece was issued[and legal tender] in 1969.
