My Omega got some attitydeproblems..
« on: 15 September 2015, 19:53:17 »

Hej Hi n hello.. I used to be a proud owner of a Opel Omega. (Opel is basicly a wellbuilt Vauxhall) Inspite of this its not troublefree. The engine starts up nice and easy and runs decent for about 10km. then it suddenly begins to sound like a lawnmovermotor and perform as such aswell. Got failcodes p0 170 335 and 340. fuel trim malfunction cam and crankshaftsensor circuit. this i believe is just symptoms of the real problem. checked cambelt looks fine, found no airleaks. Anyone who rekognize this problem? Or have any clever ideas? its a 2.2 ecotec from 2003. my newest car ever so i am not that familiar with such modern technic. read somewhere that a weak battery could be the cause..  best regards from bjorn :)

Welcome  :y

Have you checked the basics? Pulled the spark plugs up and inspected them? Oil or water in the plugs?

I would also be looking at the cam sensor, it's about the only sensor that really fails on the 2.2 and it can cause other issues.

Hi tunnie and thanks for the warm welcome :) No i have checked the cambelt and for leaks. A carserviceshop? cleaned the throttlehouse for some months ago. Im into poor connectionpoint or weak battery but i will certianly take your advise under consideration. The camsensor is one of the suspects and i will probably start with replacing it. Thanks again   for answer

On one of my previous 2.2 omegas that ran ok for a short distance and then sounded like a machine gun and lost a lot of power,,it turned out to be one of the lambda sensors at fault  :-\ :y
