ISIS have claimed responsibility.

Whilst the boreres are open it's easy for them to get in.  How do think they come in, parachute?

And this is once again why we need the borders shut right now !! and any in the country kick them out along with all their family attachments to minimise the risks.
Far to much of this political correction crap about and far to many "do gooders" about that need to wake up.

I have just had a look at a couple of sites that make oil recommendations for different vehicles one of which is often mentioned on here, none of them have 5W30 as a recommended oil for the 3.2.

It may listed in the handbook, but for what country climate?

You know what they say "long life oil, short life engine".  Anyone who knows what goes on in an engine wouldn't leave oil in for these crazy long service intervals.

I hate the thought of using anything less than a 40 grade in mine (never have, never will) the temperature that oil gets to from time to time makes you think of the extra protection you get.  When you have a oil temp gauge fitted it's surprising how certain circumstamces increase the temp.

Take a look at some data sheets of different oils and look at the protection you get at 100 deg

Makes you wonder why a lot of 6 year old engines smoke crap oil poor service intervals  ::)

Omega General Help / Re: V6 Cambelt trouble aligning
« on: 20 May 2017, 00:16:28 »
It is really easy to do even without tools.
No, its **IMPOSSIBLE** to do the Omega V6 correctly without the correct locking timing kit.  Absolutely impossible.

You should be able to get it good enough to run, but not correctly.

Why? Done it at least 5 times already and it's correct every single time somehow, must be a miracle or just pure luck.

The reality is that's its close enough to run and not damage the engine, correct it is not  :y

At last count I was into triple figures for V6 cambelt changes and have seen it all, its is pretty surprising how far out setup without the correct timing tool can get it and, how much better they run after the correct setup.

Aren't you supposed to replace springs in pairs? That's a good price though, did the spring fail in Wales - he'll of a long way to go with a broken one .....

Not spending much time in sunny Lincs? Have we offended you?

You should do them as a pair, it can be dangerous not to.  If I'm asked to replace one side only I refuse, take the job somewhere else.

It's that horible though of will it-won't it.  The GM kit was increased to 8 year and 80k but then reduced back to 4 year or 40k, so the kit should be "safe" but your choice.  I'm happy for mine to be on 5 years.
