Ferrari 308
« on: 15 June 2023, 17:49:28 »

Just seen an old Magnun PI tv series episode.

Got me thinking of all the Ferrari range past and pressent. ::)

We had a Ferrari Dino 246 and a Daytona 365 GTB + 400i at work and of the 3 I loved the Daytona.

But styling wise its got to be the 308 range for me. :P :P

Modern day it would be a SF90. :y

Many people think 365 refers to the BHP of the Daytona.

It's actually the cubic capacity of each cylinder.

12x 365 equals 4390cc. :)

....actaully it's 365 and a bit cc. ;)

A mate of mine has an old Testarossa. not my favourite Ferrari but I wont turn down a spin in it. If it happens I will try and blow a few cobwebs out of it.
It travels about 50 miles a year at slow speeds. What a waste.  ::)

In the eighties they were seen as brash yuppie cars driven by selfish rich knobs who wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire.

Today, they are seen as a classic 12 cylinder Ferrari, and prices are rising.

Some of the modern Ferraris are shockingly shi#te styling, Enzo would not be best pleased.

Those from the 80s were some of the best

The 308 is good, but if Tom Selleck in anything to go by I think you have to look like a seventies porn star to drive one. :)

We see a lot round here, as the local racetrack tends to attract Ferrari (and other exotics) owners.

Can never get any of them to play, though, they act all aggressive, but as soon as you take up the challenge, they stop :(

For me, anything that came after the F40 , is a tarts handbag of a car produced for footballers with too much money but no sense of style or class.

Ferraris(and similar) were only ever meant for one of two things:

Racing

or

Flashy toys for the fashionable. And like lots of fashion goods, they're not very durable or well made.

This seems to be an Italian thing.

The Italians do passion while the Germans prefer pragmatism. :)

Older Ferraris (and most other things Italian) were terribly built and unreliable, but 21st Century versions are pretty well put together., relative to other countries products.
They lack beauty and style though. Garish ostentatious and vulgar.

That's unfair. You mean as complex as they can.

He is rich, he sold a window making company he had but made the money himself fair play to him, he has a famous Mondeo touring car and very special race bike I’ll ask about those next time I see him.  He asked me about refurbishing his turbos and fitting bigger billet wheels in them too🤣 like as if it not fast enough already😱😱

When I worked for Virgin ( Media) in 2000 , my manager used to poll up in a Ferrari.  Only trouble was……….it was yellow.

Not a racer then. Although it could also be because he can make his own decisions. :)
