Title: Pictures questions
Post by: BazaJT on 14 January 2018, 20:31:09
I've just read annihilators guide on uploading photos, seems pretty straight forward and I'll give it a whirl at some point.A couple of questions first though.Guide says confirm pictures are there and not too big, fair enough but what tells me they're too big?If they are too big how do I go about making them smaller?Sorry for the daft questions but I haven't a clue about such things.

It isnt a daft question at all. I have an older friend sends me giant photos. You cant tell what they are.

Next week I want to start a thread which will have photos in it.

I seem to remember tunnie did a  good guide yonks ago on inserting a photo and how to reduce it

Easiest method at hand is to use Paint (bundled within Windows), otherwise pretty much most Image Editors will do it.

On the Image size 800 x 600 is a common size for Web and Forum use and these days view able on most devices, if you wanted a bit more detail go  a bit higher but once you go over say 1280 x 960 (or 720 if widescreen) then the viewer will need to start moving the Pic around to see all of it.

Also bear in mind a lot of Image Hosting Web Sites will automatically reduce your Image Size when Pubically Hosted, best way is to have a play and see how you get on.  ;)
