Damn damn damn
« on: 21 September 2008, 18:34:29 »

Thought I was sorted after my last weekends work changing the cam cover gaskets etc. Was looking good all week on short-ish runs and even on a long run to Brighton and back yesterday (40-ish mile round trip) but on a short run today my weeping oil problem is back.

It is definitely drivers-side and a very small weep rather than real 'leak' but I'm not sure if I am going to have the skill and facilities to into the engine any further than I did for the cam covers. I also don't want to leave it as the last 'minor niggle' I left ended up costing me a DIS pack, a set of plugs, One Cat and most of an exhaust system as the unburnt fuel destroyed the Cat and the bits blocked up the exhaust.

Frustratingly it is not even consistent as having stopped to check the scale of it there was then not a peep from there to home and a repeat journey a couple of hours later had no problem until I was almost home.

If I can't solve it then the thing will go For Sale and as it is pre 2001 and is already LPG'd I may even get most of the money I've spent on it (I wish).

If its from the drivers side, consider replacing the oil filler neck and oil cap seals
