Omega General Help / Advice
« on: 16 April 2011, 19:37:10 »
Still getting codes, P0743,P0753 and P1700. Should I take the chance and put her into the specialist and I know for a fact I will get ripped off. As they wanted £250 to replace solonoid and I did It for half the price. As I said it did not clear codes. or should I try and pick up a refurbished auto box and try and fit it myself but then again might be electrical and code will still not clear. Any advice appreciated.

Omega General Help / Miggy specialists / enthusiasts

A few weeks ago I had the code P0743 which I was informed was the solonoid or the torque converter. Being advised to try the cheaper option and replace the solonoid I did to the cost of about £120 including New ATF fluid and gaskets plus the solonoid. Now having put it all back together the code still not clearing. Any advice if I picked the wrong option which I think I have and need the torque converter changed should I just try and get a second hand gearbox and as asked before how difficult is it to replace.

Omega General Help / Autobox

Ok looking on the negative side here. Have managed to locate and have ordered the solonoid and gaskets to hopefully cure my P0743 code and get het out of limp mode. I have been told it is eaither the solonoid or torque converter and am taking the cheaper option 1st. Should this fail how easy or difficult to drop the auto box and replace torque converter. Is there any obstacles I will come across apart from the weight. Is it a straight forward job taking into consideration am not a mechanic.

Omega General Help / Dilemma
« on: 24 March 2011, 11:04:25 »
Just had the Miggy to the Garage re code P0743 Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) Solenoid Circuit. Its either the solonoid or the converter. Now the dilemma is the Solonoid is £250 and there is the chance that it will not clear the problem as it could be the converter itself which will be £600 as the gearbox comes out. So the Dilemma is do I get rid of my beloved miggy just now, do I pay £250 and keep my fingers crossed. Definently cannor afford £600 as I just spent over £500 for a new head in January.

Omega General Help / coil plug connection advice
« on: 17 February 2011, 14:12:35 »
Got the miggy back last week after getting her new head. Was driving along quite happily this morning when she cut out. Had noticed the the plug connecting to the coil had came loose and that the plastic lug which keeps it in place had snapped. Anyone any ideas how I can keep the plug secure. Was thinking of cable tie but dont see where I can connect it to the coil. positive it will work loose again without any fixing.
