Cheap aldi worklight

Picked one of these rechargeable lights up for £9.99 at aldi this evening, bloody bright enough and cheap enough to be disposable but is guaranteed for 3 yrs. Link is amazon but same thing.

We have two from Aldi and use them for camping.

The only trouble with LED lights (I find) for working on cars is the narrow beam spread and the very narrow range of light frequencies emitted..

More often than not I end up getting the old bulb-on-a-wire out or the slightly newer 'neon tube in a tube' light.

Not that I have one of these lamps specifically..

Yep, I find that LED light is a bit of a strain on the eyes. Bulb-on-a-wire - inevitably each job gets through about 3 or 4 precious "proper" light bulbs that you can only buy under-the-counter these days due to their lack of shock resistance. The fluorescent tube lights fit the bill nicely and don't cost you a fortune, or burn the house down, when you leave them on in a remote corner of the loft for weeks. :-X

Yeah the bulbs in my lead lamp don't last long these days (even the 'shock resistant' ones) :(

Then again the bulbs in the pit don't last long either .. firing up a welder in the garage usually finishes at least one of them off ;D
