Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Elite Mem Seats In CDX ?

Hi Everyone....

Does anyone know whats involved in fitting the front seats from an Elite (With Memory) into a CDX ? - Apart from the heat pads & airbags - would the supply for the adjuster's be the same as the CDX height adj or is there a different loom/ECU for the elite?

Hi Everyone...

Has anyone fitted a car PC in an omega yet ? I'd love to see some pics....

Some time ago i put a pc running centrafuse in my works van... Best thing i ever did, sat nav, phone & media all at the touch of a screen, it was a fairly heath robertson affair but worked well and being a van had loads of room

How ever did the police get on with them? - theres no room for anything, I did toy with the idea of replacing the CID but i like what it does, so any ideas? need to mount a 7" or smaller screen...

Happy to swop parts, ideas, software ect...

Omega General Help / 2.5 Est Exhaust

Whats the difference between the saloon & estate exhaust ?

Will a cat back system off a saloon fit the estate ? - it has been suggested that it will but the tail pipe is short (add a crome bit!)

Is that the case or do i need to get one off an estate?

Omega General Help / ABS & TC ECU Repair...

Hi Everyone...

Has anyone sucsessfully repaired one ?
Mine has gone intermittant - mostly off - somtimes the "My Naff Code Reader" can communicate with it (in fault condition) and all the wheel sensors work (when in fault condition)...
I think it may be the PCB issue that has been discussed on here before -
But noticed that VX had a service bulitin re air con condensation dripping on the ECU... (mine went west 2 days aft having the AC fixed) the air con has a leak so isnt working now & the fault went away for a few days

Hi

5 miles from home after my marathon trip to scotland i developed a missfire...
It was a sudden event - up to that was running fine
No eml light (should i check for codes anyway ?

Had a look this morning and theres no spark on 2 (drivers side front) not sure about the other bank but nothing on 2...
Its a constant lack of spark & not failing under load or the such like...
I probably allready know the answer to this - but is it the dis pack ?... i guess what im asking is has anyone had a single cyl fail on one - leads should be ok (fairly new & lucas ones) but i'll get a spare to try & theres no sign of tracking anywhere (parked in a dark spot last night )

Omega General Help / Auto box car blues !!... No 2nd gear in LHM

Hi Guys...
Apart from the cam cover (which ain't too bad now in comparison) the autobox has just given up !! (showing 102k)
Off to wales today - all fine but there was a twisty bit (about 15miles) on the way to tregaron, was'nt driving hard at all (unusual for me) the box was going up & down happily, then when in second it felt like it was stuck there (engine breaking)... lumpy changes then after i stopped & restarted - no drive !! after going up & down the box it goes into limp home mode (this gives me 1st & 3rd)
when up to 50 or so switch of the ign & restart (LHM goes off) I get 1st 3rd & 4th... second just slips (but no drive at all if you stop)... drove nearly 200 miles in LHM box got very (VERY) hot -[size=8] smells like burning plasticene.... [/size]is it dead (and did i kill it ?)
going to top it up in the morning & see -
When in LHM should you be able to select 1-2-3-D cos when i tried i got 1=1 2=3 3=3 D=3 is that right ?
Also can you read the GB codes with an elm tool ?
(let me know if i'm becomming a pain

)

Omega General Help / The dreaded cam cover.....

Hi Everyone...
Long time viewer, 1st time poster !... this site has been a great help... Thanks.

However, I recently bought a 98 2.5CDX - I needed a large estate for work (long story) and it fits the bill well.
after about 1wk the cam cover gaskets needed doing, replaced them (the guide is great) and all was well, after about 3 wks got the expected missfire so decided this w/e to replace the plugs & leads, Horror of all horrors the pass side plug wells are full of oil.... so removed the cover and checked to see if i had snagged the gasket on the way in... nope all good, (bah!)... cleaned up & re-fitted with new sealent... the bloody thing still leaks (drivers side is fine).. oh and yes i did clean out the breathers (lots of goo - checked - no pressure build up )
oil leak is different now - seems to be on the inside (so fills plug wells rather than dripping on the manifold)
How common is it for the covers to distort ? (didn't check that).. and would it be a big deal to fit the alloy ones of the vectra ?

My old trolly is going to need a system for the MOT on the 27th - I would buy a new one but i dont know if it's going to fail big !

Just got an NIP today

Last monday 80MPH M4 between J35 & 36... - can you beleive it 80 bloody MPH - not in the 50 section, no this was full open 70Mph propper 3 lane black tarmac with white lines and everything... 80... not 81 or 95..... [size=20]80[/size] mph - I ask you ? - so aparently it's nothing to do with revenue generation -

Trouble is we dont know who was driving !

So i've asked for the pic's...

(rant over... Where's the paracetamol?)

PS anyone got an ABS ecu for sale, I really should fix that speedo

Hi

Just had the renewal quote for our volvo V40 (Er's)
Its £760 !
Last year it was £252 and she has 5 yrs NCD...

Went online & Swinton want £156 (basicly the same deal but no breakdown cover)... so i phoned Aviva and asked if they got it wrong... No they said its a volvo so therefore its expensive... told them the swinton price and they said "we dont do price matching"... i said you dont do my insurance either !
Put her with swinton & upped my RAC cover...
Wierd --- The mig is with them - its £300 for me (50k/ year Business) what are they ging to put it up to next year !!

General Car Chat / Hit By Stolen Car Being Chased..

Hi All...

Got a call from my mate today - he covers the Derby area..

Whilst driving through a 50mph road works he was hit by a stolen car being chased by the police at around 90mph

He's ok apart from compulsory whip-lash

(said it's painful to lift anything heavier than a pint) car is prob a write off and the crack-head driver of the stolen corsa was caught...

Anyone been in a similar situation & how did it pan out with insurance ect?

- His car:- Mondeo 3 estate TDDi closed up all door shuts (inc a post) rear quarter & tailgate touching rear wheels !
Corsa - mashed, driver Unscathed (unfortunately)
