Author Topic: 3.0 MV6 LPG issue - Factory Fit??  (Read 528 times)

3.0 MV6 LPG issue - Factory Fit??

Not one of mine but was asked to look at one this afternoon, 3.0 with what looked a Inlet Mixer System, ticks over ok but then runs like a bag of spanners under load on LPG, runs fine on Petrol, the Chap says it been like it since He got it and hence only drives it on proper jungle juice.

Checked the obvious, Air leaks, water temperature etc nothing really jumped out at me, whilst looking I noticed the LPG Content Gauge is shared with the Dash Petrol Guage and a Red LPG switch over on the Center Consul, this all started flooding memories back to a 2.0 4 Pot Vectra I once drove that was a Factory Fit Option (Dual Fuel) with the same set up and they were shite

Cant remember the name of the Kit they fitted, begun with a V from memory, does any one know if Vauxhalls ever did a this Mixer System to the V6 Mig??

Started to joke with myself whether someone has ripped one of a 4 Pot and done a DIY on the Omega?

Fairly sure it was never an option on the V6 :-\ :-\

It was a Koltec Necam system and utter shite ::)

I'd suggest starting with a full HT check and then it needs the setup checking properly, likely with a gas analyser :y

Mind you... A mixer is less than ideal for V6's :-X

Thats the one  ;), totally agree with you on the Mixer side LD.

He's gone now, said I would do some research and get back to Him, just seems strange that Vauxhalls would fit that bit of Kit to a V6 after they got there hands burnt on the 4 pots versions  :-\

Never heard of it fitted to a 6 pot TBH  :-\ I reckon it's been fitted by some cowboy :-X

Next time you get a chance, look over it for some markings or even get some snaps :y :y

Out of intrest LD can you remenber what the comon issues or problems were on the Kotec System by any chance.
