Selling cars with low postcounts
« on: 07 September 2015, 18:07:54 »

Ain't allowed. Nobody is exempt. It will get deleted without explanation, along with all the related moan and gripe threads that usually get posted afterwards.

The Admin Team lack the time to explain personally each time, its already clearly in the rules, so no explanation is needed.

Anyone who strongly disagrees is welcome to press the "Delete Account" button under their profile.

Certainly agree with the low post count bit, I just dont think 128 is low, I think 250 is too high. New members have to spend most of there waking hours in front of a lump of glass and plastic in order to get anywhere, I have been on here 5 yrs. I think there should be a qualifying time as well as a post count, but thats just my opinion....

We have to work within the realms of what the software allows, and from the experiences of previous hassles over the past 9yrs.

That's why the conditions are set where they are.  Because it works reasonably well, it hasn't been refined further for a few years.

250 is easily achievable in that length of time

sending pointless welcomes on the newbie welcome areas seems to be the way to do it.  just tried to get to 250 that way (having had my 2 dross posts here removed) but i find unfortunately they seem to be locked after a few days.

I thought 250 seemed a tall order when I joined, but it was easy really. Just need to get involved in the chat  :y

250 one word posts was enough for Phil L to list his estate, not that anyone would pay that much for a 2.6 ::)

Of course, if people actually bothered to read the rules when they signed up then they probably wouldn't feel so hard done by :-X

I understand that some people prefer not to say too much and prefer to read, hence they may have a low post count. However, rules are rules and it's easy to get to 250 just by sharing some of your experiences, photo's and more importantly, helping others.

You need to consider, selling things on here is a free service to those who follow the rules and maybe a group of people who already own Omega's is probably not the audience you actually want.

There are many selling sites which will allow you to advertise your car without a post count, you just need a little cash or use a free service like Gumtree. If the car is anything special or cheap, someone will probably link to here anyway.

EDIT
Just noticed the title. Maybe you should step away from the computer and smoke a funny cig or two, that'll raise your pot count  ;D

To be fare I managed to reach 250 without any issue and I joined middle of this year, as said it's just a case of getting involved.

Personally I think your better of selling your motor on eBay, the interest I got from this forum was minimal and then those that had any interest didn't bother responding to pm's ect. I sold my 3.2 to an eBay buyer and I was only knocked down by £40.

This forum isn't really a place for selling it's more for the wealth of info and general chit chat, but hey it's each to there own.

It's not about how hard it is to reach 250 posts, some people go all out to reach such a number in a short time in order just to sell stuff. I just like to get on with my life and just have a steady carry on, and visit the forum when I need to. and not come on just to increase my post count...

This isn't the For Sale Section... It's the Test Zone and quite clearly says so... Equally it also says quite plainly that posts here don't count ::)

Of course, if anyone ACTUALLY bothered to read the rules, terms and conditions when they signed up, this would never be a problem... ::)

Gumtree have adverts and probably loads of staff to look after it.

OOF is run by people giving up their spare time, which is wasted when having to deal with people who don't bother to read the rules.

The ironic thing is, this is the worst place to sell one. Everyone has one, anyone after one will want it super cheap as they know exactly what needs to be done to make it worth anything.

If you don't like the rules, then delete your account.  :y

Would appear some people find it so easy to reach a 250 post count that have to delete their account every now and then so they can have the fun and joy of reaching it all over again.  :-X ;D

I have read three pages, and I cant see that any one has a problem with the rules. Its been stated that they may be  a little unhappy with the rules saying things like "A little dissapointed that posts in the test zone dont count " but it's not a complaint, just an observation. but of course the busy bodies jump on this and take it out of context, perhaps they worked as newspaper reporters in a previous life and cant get out of the habit.

Of course, if people actually bothered to read the rules when they signed up then they probably wouldn't feel so hard done by :-X

This is an example of a busy body, because no one feels hard done by. If they do they have not said so on here..

Theme is the rules.
seems that when they stop moaning about them and reach the magic count of 250, there car appear's in the for sale section, they then moan again, because they haven't put a price on there advert, it gets removed, they then flounce off, and advertise it on bumtree ;D

OK, its run its course.

Nothing in this thread has made me even want to discuss the postcount levels with the other Admins, as there is nothing new from all the previous reasonings I've been presented with over the past several years about the postcount levels.

So locking.
