Has the value of used cars improved?
« on: 08 June 2021, 13:25:51 »

I have been looking at the prices of used XFR and there seems to be a rise of between £3000-£5000.

Put my details into WBAC and the quote has gone up by £6000.

I think they've stayed pretty strong. I was looking at mine and despite putting 15k on it since September I think all I lost is the bmw dealer premium. I think if I'd bought it privately it would be worth the same as what I'd paid for it.

I suspect its a lot of people coming out of company cars etc in favour of doing lower mileages in more exciting cars

Even the bottom end is strong, scrappers i used to pick up at 150-200 are more like 3-400 currently, the arse is going to fall out of the world soon enough !

Apparently the demand for second hand vehicles is higher than ever , so obviously increased demand equals an increase in value/prices.

It's the same kind of thing as house prices. People get excited when the value of their house goes up but, if you sell up and move, the price of what you want has gone up too.
Think you're getting a good deal selling you car, but the price of the one you buy has gone up.

Really depends Andrew, you can have 2 near identical cats and one is worth £500 and the other £5, If you can see a code on it I can try and get a value for you but sometimes like the Omega ones the code is on the heatshield that rots off
