The map disk is the std yellow navteq type, nought descriptive on there, just the date and some copyright junk, plus navteq logo.  The firmware is silver (like the underside of the CD), with Philips, CARiN, SY581, and Version 2.3 written on it.

A great place for the gps mouse.
Double sided tape it to the underside of the middle seatbelt cover on the parcel shelf. Keep it far enough back to miss the seatbelt & put the double sided onto the top of the ariel ( the non metal side)

Works a treat, gets full view, its hidden and you only need to run the cable into the boot corner

The gps receivers I use (cheap off egay) have magnetic bases, so I pop them up through the hole in metal part of shelf, just above carin cd unit.  Even easier ;)

Ive just noticed that I dont seem to be recieving any GPS satalite signals, its at "0", I will move the arial into the open, but is this a problem.

Also the disk i have which is South East, when working appears to be out of position, even after I have  input the Car Position, I am concerned the signal from the car could be incorect, has this any bearing on the position.

thanks

Without the GPS, the accuracy will gradually drop out, so fix the GPS :y

If the reciever itself has failed, I use the ones from ebay for around a fiver (Allendale Stores or something I think is seller) - had around 3 or 4 from them, been excellent
