SOMEONE IS PULLING THE OMEGA BACKWARDS
« on: 01 July 2011, 08:32:32 »

Hello,
When I attempt to move the car in "D" position and I depress the accelerator even all the way down, my Omega does not move normally. She moves very slowly for the first one hundred meters and I feel like someone is holding the car or pulling backwards within this period :-/. At around one hundred meters, everything turns back to normal and she accelerates as expected.
On the even surface, no problem but, uphill position creates problems  :-[since it happens no matter what the engine is cold or hot.
By the way, even if the accelerator is fully depressed, no RPM rises and it stays between idle and 1000 RPM range.
It happens when in gas or LPG mode.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the comment mate.
With the same opinion, I have it checked almost every month at my friend's service facility, so level is normal and no leaks...

No, I did not.
But, while it is returning to normal, she changes the shift smoothly like nothing has happened. :-?
For those reasons above, I think there might be something wrong in multiram or anywhere else but not in the automatic gearbox. Or, in LPG system since both ECUs are working together.
After a filter change and a program update on the LPG system may indicate something... :-/
Those are my opinions at a first glance.

I'd better see the technician's comments to the topic for a while...

No fault message and no evidence related with the auto box.

What about ABS / TC?

I saw a car ages ago which had similar symptoms. Would drive quite normally if you pulled the ABS/TC fuse out. If you didn't, it seemed to be in permanent traction control and just wouldn't accelerate from rest.

This was an ex-plod, and the ABS sensor wiring had been hacked about. Might be worth a check, though.

Could the gear selector switch just need a clean?

a talk to a mechanic reminded me to check your lambda sensors.. if they are never changed , you are likely to use them more than their service life ..

Nowadays, she acts normally.
But, it is a good idea to check the snow button when it happens again, since ABS/TC fuse issue does not work...
