If it was true they would just apply the antidote rather than hit their economy badly.

You are right though. Mankind ( certainly the Russians, Chinese, Americans and ourselves) have been concocting pure evil for the next serious war. They have after all had a good seventy years to perfect it. Think of all the other stuff invented and perfected in the same large timeframe......

Indeed, one day Bernie will realise that he is the Democrats warm up act...  ::)

Trump will wipe the floor with the competition. Mostly because there isn't any ;D
And Putin is ready to install himself as leader of Russia till 2035, so it'll be the Don and Vlad show for another five years at least.

Just to give you some idea of how this is affecting businesses, Barclays market cap (it's value on the stock market) has dropped from £28billion to £18billion in less than 2 weeks.
So what? It's only a grasping bank, you say. But, if this downward trend were to continue, the banks may need recapitalising (bailing out) again, and we all know how long the after effects of that last.

Perhaps this is how those dastardly Chinese end capitalism once and for all? Because it won't stop at the banks - airlines will fail, anything connected with travel, entertainment, events (corporate, weddings, sports events etc), public spaces will fail, hospitals will fail, businesses will fail..

INTU, which owns the Lakeside and Trafford shopping centres, has issued a plea for funds this morning. They were already in trouble but this virus could finish them off.
Rishi Sunak really splashed the cash yesterday, I hope he/we don't live to regret it. I know it's only pretend money, but overseas investors don't quite see it that way.

CNBC were reporting this morning that there were only 14 new cases in China this morning. When one of the anchormen asked "1.4 billion people, 14 new cases, how do we know? How reliable are these numbers?" No one had an answer.
How the wotsit can these numbers be anywhere near accurate? There could be tens of thousands in rural areas with 'heavy colds'.

Exactly - even if they could feasibly test all those people, numbers reported out of China need to be viewed with scepticism at best.
