Change ECU for igniton Siemens omega B 2.0 16V
« on: 07 April 2020, 19:58:47 »

Hi.
I get a faultcode when i start the car when its hot. It says that the camshaftsensor has a problem. I have changed it and it does not seem to be the problem. I have also changed the cable. I think that the ECU for the ignition (Siemens is beeing overheated).
i have bought one from a scrapyard with the exakt same numbers as on the one i have. I changed it but the car didnt even start. Is there something i have to do to pair it with the car or is the one i bought broke?

At the very least you need the collar from the ignition barrel and the chip from the key for the car that the ecu came from...

It may depend on the model year but as far as I know any old ECU has to be de-programmed from the car, the new one has to be programmed into your car. For this swapping action, you also need the ignition chip and barrel as stated above. I’m not sure what equipment is required but I recall a Tech2. I’ve been there, done that it with Astra G and Zafira A.

With the above items, nothing else is required  :y

You need all this plus the ECU. If not you need to reprogramming the ECU

All these parts interact with each other as the anti-theft system. And the ECU will not let the car start if any of the parts in the picture isn't "known" by the ECU

Not true.

You need, as a minimum the chip from the key Fob (it's a separate part), the transponder ring (to match the chip), the engine ecu.

Everything else is over complication things.  :y
