all time movies.
« on: 16 September 2012, 00:12:25 »

With so many tv channels, all showing the same old crap with an advert interval average of seven minutes or so  its no wonder now and again we go for the dvd collection.
Some are really view once only material, others are true "keepers" .
Tonight, a bit of Mr Craig in bond form with speakers on load always entertains.

Whats yours?

solace next. :)

Wow so many to pick from in my collection

Action, Scifi, and Comedy.

Plus, a 2 TB drive full of many tv series from the likes of the original Avengers to NCIS & JAG, and comedies like Love thy neighbor and the Good life

all up, several 1000 hours of viewing

If I get fed up of the TV then I always turn to the Only fools and horses complete collection  ;)

Movie wise, I still love the classics like  - Commando, The Rock, Predator, all the Bond movies,  Jaws , Police Academy collection  ;D  :y

I'm a big Bond fan. But I think my favourite is the Italian Job. Great Escape has to be up there as well.

Arnie and Brucie films are always worth a watch - some of the cheesy Arnie ones are full of great one-liners.

Comedys, anything with Ronnie Barker in, and Blackadder (I've had the pleasure of meeting him, and visiting his house). Mr Bean is a bit too cringy for me, like Frank Spencer (when I was little, I had the pleasure of getting birthday and Christmas cards from Micheal).

Original - great. 2nd, pants. First AVP, poor. Second, good in that it didn't follow the Hollywood usual no-nos.

Predators was poor, the scenes from the trailer were not even in the film :(

Oh I could be here a while... But a couple that come to mind straight away are The shawshank redemption and the green mile. I'm a big horror fan, and I love a laugh out loud comedy. Thin on the ground these days though.
Watched a gritty drama the other night that was quite disturbing, tyrannosaur. Peter Mullen as lead actor. Very good.

I am also great fan of movies you know my theory is that there is a huge common knowledge of the world and issues around us, which is hidden although you can spot small pieces of it in several art works eg paintings, statues, movies and so on...I love the movie, which I can see uncountable times and all times I can find something new in. I saw the Star Wars serie many times although nowadays my best the best is Forest Gump , which is not comedy as many people think.  :y

I much prefer TV fare to films it must be said (I seldom watch them).

Looking at me DVD's I see;

40+ Operas and other music (concerts, recitals - that sort of thing).

Complete series of;

30 Rock
Dead Like Me
Weeds
Seinfeld
Caroline In The City
Curb Your Enthusiam
L Word
Twin Peaks
Spooks
The Wire
Rescue Me
Sopranos
The Avengers (Emma Peel and Tara King years)
Gideons Way
The Baron
Rowan and Martins Laugh In (sadly incomplete)

In addition to many other incomplete collections.

3 satellite systems and two MCE's complete the video ensemble for those times I've nothing to watch. ;D ;D ;D
