Does it actually ever stay white? I painted a door (well, lots of doors) about three weeks ago. They still look white, but I've just got round to painting a frame surrounding one of these doors, and there is a subtle, but noticeable difference.
Seems to happen since they decided lead was not good for you and removed it from the paint.

It seems to yellow quite badly... Satin stays whiter for longer. Easier to apply too :y

Know what you mean should be called very light yellow :D

Yep, I decorated a house 6 months ago and and the woodwork has already gone yellow! >:( It was Dulux too... :(

If there is anything on the doors, example, nicotine, etc, the gloss will change colour within hours, despite being undercoated. They will continue to 'yellow off' over time.
Water based paints are more susceptable to allow bleed.
Best way is seal the work if you have any doubts, with one of the modern products, like Zinnser's products. They are not cheap, but I saved hours when in the trade, using these sealers :y

Further to my post, people do not seem to think that contaminents from cooking, smoking, and even dirt and grease from outside can even drift to upper floors and settle on the woodwork and walls. Woodwork that has seen any nicotine contamination can remain in the paintwork and walls for years. :(

This is crown paint, not a cheap and nasty one. I can live with it, just a bit annoying as I hate painting with a passion.

I've often wondered what the acrylic paint that Aldi and Lidl sometimes sell is like? :-\

Its because the chemicals and lead that used to stabilize the paints of old are not allowed today. :y

Pretty much like teeth really.
White to begin with turning yellow with age. ::)

i've had the opposite problem with crown paint. their outdoor gloss yellow 'tibetan gold' turns to white. well it fades a lot anyway within 6 months to a year. though it might be a bad batch and re-painted it, same result. i therefore don't rate crown paint.

Mrs griffin has recently painted all the doors, with dulux satin white, all door frames, and skirting were done with dulux gloss white 6mths ago, non smoking house, the gloss has started to fade(yellow), so downstairs been done with satin white.
