Western Digital.

They expect me to pay to return a drive bought online from their own store that is faulty.  Needless to say, its next to impossible to talk to anyone, and they need excessive personal data to even create a case in the first place in order to find out that the morons expect me to foot the bill posting it back.

Retards.
I've had to pay to return 2 drives to WD in the past , they also wanted them sent in anti static bags ,in plastic "clam shells" for drives that where dead  >:( fortunately i had the packaging .

plus side , they doubled the capacity of the replacement drives sent out FOC

Once I was able to actually speak to somebody, they came around to my way of thinking, and promptly sent me a shipping label.

It's not new
people using Microsoft "one drive" etc
they give you "free " cloud storage,  then ,when you use up the small space, want to charge you for more space .

Local storage is the answer , save all your files on hard drives with back ups  ;)

people who use mobile phones and take 20 pics of their dinner etc  :D

some laptops and note books with minimal storage are also a problem

SSDs and memory cards or even sata spinny HDDs are cheap now  ;)

Google said VLC would view them - Oh no it didnt.

I probably didnt know beacause I dont take / keep that many photos. Ones I really want to keep I load onto postimages, but also leave them on my laptop in case Postimages goes the way of Photobucket.
Often delete them off my iphone as I keep getting messages that my cloud  is full but I can have more for 99p a month.
Wont ever pay for something if I dont have to.  ;D

Of course you won't touch products that actually work. You prefer to mess around with stuff that doesn't and ask daft questions all day  ;D

Apple charge 99p a month for 50 Gb.
Which is starting to take the piss for such a misery amount of storage, it was justifiable just for the convenience at the old 79p...
