Just as it was after WW2 when the Americans bailed us out financially, I can see them taking advantage of what will be our weak financial situation to work the post-Brexit trade deals, that will become a priority again, in their favour. :(

Or perhaps we should at last just become the 51st State of the USA!! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;)

Not money loaned at 'mates rates' though Lizzie. Just an opportunity for business.

Not much philanthropic about the yanks. :) :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Oh yes indeed, but they had just saved us all from a very evil fate, costing them a total, for the whole war, of 418,000 American (UK, 450,000) lives so they had some justification in doing so in our capitalist world. ;)

If America pushes too hard in our efforts to do a trade deal, then the Chinese would be delighted to offer us very favourable terms I'm sure. The mere mention of this would put Donald back in his box.

When the markets open properly, there's going to be lots of new chinqy share holders of big companies worldwide, how best to takeover the competition.

Yes it's not the Americans we need to be worried about but the Chinese, as they are undoubtedly poised to buy up struggling businesses across the western world.  >:(

I would rather the British government take on another £1 trillion of debt so that they can buy shares and controlling interests in struggling British businesses that are otherwise profitable and keep them afloat until better times. The shares can then be sold off later when the economy has recovered and the Treasury should make a profit.  :y

China must not be allowed to profit or gain power from this nightmare that they have inflicted on us!  >:(

They were happy enough to do that in 2007 when it was the banks, after all. ;)

They did, and then Gideon went and sold the bank shares for a loss...  ::)

Dick.  >:(

Still not quite as moronic as Gordon Brown selling the country's gold reserves and notifying the world in advance of his cunning plan!  ::)
