I've had it on a couple of cars in the past and I've enjoyed it for cold mornings when I CBA don't have time to run the car warm before setting off. By the time the windows have been scraped, bum and hands are toasty warm.

It was also on both EV's that I had, but totally unnecessary IMO, the car warms itself off a phone app/timer before you get in, no need for a hand warmer, or scraping any ice.  :y
Does that affect the range in any significant way?
What do you think, Ron?  ;D
;D Yeah, realise that it does, but just wondered by how much.

Heated steering wheel finally arrived and fitted.

Toasty hands now 8)

No such luxury on the Mexican. I believe it was part of the £1200  'comfort pack' that also included keyless entry and a couple of other items I can't remember.

I did spec the sports seats from the M3 and M4 though. Electric movement and rump roasters included.

I just fart a bit more.  :D

Two possible answers Ron, either not at all, because the car is still plugged into the mains and drawers about the same amount as it uses for heating. Or, if not plugged in, it loses a very small amount of range, one mile or (typically) less in my experience.

Both my E92 335d and 330d’s had electric bolsters as well as memory and heat. They automatically gripped you when you cornered fast, and got tighter as you went even faster around the corner. They used to hurt me as I had a boney little frame back then.  ;D
I had the heated steering wheel and the heated neck vents in the seats with the winter pack in my bmw F33 convertible, but we won’t mention that as TB took the piss when I owned that.
Defrosting on all of them was done from the bmw app from the comfort of indoors.  :y

I'm really surprised at that.

For whatever reason using the heater while going along uses a lot more energy. I suspect it's down to 2 factors. Firstly you have 60+ mph cold air going over the surface of the car, sucking heat away and second the car can defrost itself in 5mins tops (both mine had heated front screens and strong heaters. Meaning they weren't running heat for very long.

Also both mine had heat pumps rather than just blower motors and heaters. I think this makes a substantial difference.

It would appear I didn't reattach the washer pipe when refitting the scuttle.  Nor did chrisgixer.  Fortunately the scuttle is surprisingly well designed for maintenance.

So remaining things still to do are swap over the 2 plastic studs that got fitted in wrong place, and refit sound deadening and engine cover once I know no fuel leaks from the high pressure side.

Depends on the car, with a heat pump it should be using no electric heating at all when on the move and should be recovering heat from the motors, inverter and battery  :y

Took pity on the Evoque and inflated the tyres. Found out the passenger side central locking has gone lazy.

Should have stayed inside.  ::) ;D

You know you might as well do all four doors at once, save you getting them done at monthly intervals until March  >:D

Yes, I could do that, but seeing as she may be trading it in over the next month or two, it might just be getting one.

From eBay. Made in China. Costing about £25.

What could possibly go wrong  :D
