keeping the national grid stable is hard at the best of times .

I'm glad i have whole house surge protection and local SPDs

I can see a lot of expensive toys letting their smoke out if this "big power switch off" happens  ::)

I shall make a point of turning everything on, including the car.

I believe the LSSB heard about it from The Berkshire Herald, or some such rag, so it must be true ;D

without SPDs ,anyone leaving stuff on or turning extra stuff on leaves their equipment at risk from power surges  ::)
