Has anyone found a way to resolve the sticky button problem? Is there anyway of getting them recoated or any others out of another car that fit? I was looking at Vectra C ones that look to be the same in the photos but unsure if there the same fit. It’s the only thing about the car that annoys me 

I attempted to clean them with IPA but it started to go through to the white plastic below the coating

Vectra C ones might be the same shape but are of limited use as the Vectrum is canbus based rather than traditional wiring.

Ambersil sticky label remover or Tar spot remover both work a treat but do require effort.

Also hot soapy water and a soft nail brush can produce reasonable results but requires a bit of dismantling to avoid destroying the switches themselves.

Yea didn’t mean the actual button itself but by popping the the button cover of its clips & putting them onto my original Omega buttons but looking at ones on EBay the clips look to be in a different place.

I did try soapy water & Isopropyl Alcohol it did improve slightly but I went to far with 1 or 2 & the white plastic started to come through sadly, looks like I’ll just have to put up with it

Ive drunk the stuff, but never rubbed it on my buttons.

In the past, I've used Lidl acrylic nail varnish remover - it's in a pink bottle. The blue bottle is for real nails, and is harsher. Don't ask how I know - I just do . I've tried allsorts on mine, and for me this gets the best results. It leaves a nice satin finish on the surround.
I've done several drivers door switches and  boot releases with great results.
A word of caution - go at it gently, especially around any symbols or raised areas (such as the ribbed left / right mirror selector switch and the actual mirror round adjuster button. A cotton bud helps to keep the fluid where you want it near delicate areas.
With care, you'll get great results. I've tried virtually everything else known to man, with no as good results
I am actually doing the front passenger window switch tomorrow as I removed it a couple of days ago when I took the door card off to replace the c/l motor....

Cleaned the passenger door window switch with the pink Lidl stuff on Saturday, and it came up a treat. Ideally it is better done off the car. Once the horrible sticky 'soft touch' original finish was removed revealing the hard plastic underneath, a final quick rub with fine cutting compound resulted in a lovely satin / matt finish with no stickiness whatsoever. Carefully does it on any of the symbols, but they come up clear and bright as well. Did a spare I had too for good measure.
Going to to do the hazard button, alarm, TC, and blank buttons at some point when I've sorted the interior light issue... I did the boot release and drivers door switch a while back and both are still a nice smooth non sticky touch to them

i did that to my gear surround and the door switch surrounds ( all back to nice shiny non sticky plastic ) but never tried my buttons as theyre not that bad a the moment   will compare the vectra ones thou for any form of cover swapability !

I must get a bottle of the pink magic potion from Lidl. The sticky buttons have driven me nuts for years.

Aren't your hands/fingers always covered in oil and diesel and other fluids anyway from fixing your FRENCH "vehicle"

when i get round to it i will but was frightened of it taking the writing off too ?

I live in Cyprus and have had the same problem.
I got around this problem by removing the switch's put Talcum Powder on it leave it a day then with a soft small paint brush sweep the powder off. I have to do this every two years

That's worth a go as a quick fix, even if it is likely to be temporary
