Omega General Help / tractor exhaust i think

whilst driving home from work tonight I sank the pedal to the metal (tally tune up)and all hell broke loose.
The engine runs smooth not over heating idles silent but when reved its like I could only describe as metal rasping sound around the turbo area.
any ideas

Has anyone had the gearbox ecu updated on a tractor(2.5td) if so was there any difference in dropping 2 gears going uphill.
not to bothered about economy getting about 54mpg breifly on a flat bit off motorway at 55 (lol) normal 26-37mpg

Omega General Help / viscous fan removal

tried to take fan off tonight ha no such luck apart from sore knuckles .
yes I know its a left hand thread I tried to stop the pullley moving and hit the spanner no joy though is there a allen key that goes in the front of the fan to lock it up.
I'm getting close to getting the electric hacksaw out and cutting the bloody thing off

was looking back at previous posts on blanking it off egr TB says it may affect cruising.
the current valve was cleaned and refitted along with other new parts non related also tried a spare egr and before fitting this i done 30 starts no codes showen then a trip to work and back its back.
could the sensor at the end of the black vac pipe be faulty.
so much for me being code free
only thing i will say that 1 turn of the boost made a difference better mpg now well better ish
before 22 around town now 28
forgot to mention engine man light flashes when foot lifted of the gas but no code 64 or 82 present weird

 my mate has problem with the gearbox is in limp mode his son spilt juice on the gear selector he's replaced the ecu,selector switch and all the other gubbings its still in limp mode. will it need to be tech 2 its the 2.2 auto petrol

Omega General Help / sawping of autoboxes

I'm going to swap my ar25 for a 35 on my 2.5td so I can chip it.
Is it a direct swap like swap the box and torque convertor from donner to mine will it just drop straight on.
Ive got the chance of one from a 3.2mvs at my local breakers he wants £130 for it.
The rear of the doner car was flatend by a lorry front end ok.

Hi all Ive been browsing as a guest but I can't find anything on how to fix code 64 fuel quantity .the mechanic at my local garage isn't to clued up on fuel pumps.
I have a omega 2.5td on a x-plate
anyone any ideas.

I got this one from a scrappie to tide me over until my new one arrived (12 weeks).

Also for sale are 6 brand new inlet manifold gaskets £20.00
Water pump (not the metal one) £20.00 delivered.
I also have 4 injectors for the same engine (m51) £10.00 each.
