FAULTS
There is a oil leak from the area around the injector pump it looses about a pint every 1500 miles. Its not a constant flow its only when its parked up you notice the oil spot on the road.
The drivers seat doesn't heat up any more.
The EGR pipe broke again last week so I will try if I get time to blank it off.
The pulley next to the alternator could do with being replaced its starting to get quiet sqweaky.

AND FINALY
For the 2 years ive owned this car the oil and oil filter have been changed every 2-3000 miles.
the fuel filter every 6 weeks and during the cold winter every week due to the fuel thickening up (weve got 7% bio up here).
There is a few marks on the paint work where a ball hit the roof at the o/s rear window also the arches have a small amount off rust worse on the n/s.

General Car Chat / bloody pot holes/poor roads
« on: 03 January 2011, 18:18:45 »
We pay over the odds in road tax, vat, vat on fuel and yet again were having to replace damaged parts because of poor roads.
I checked my tractor over today as the steering wobbles badly from 60mph and over and found:
both lower track rod ends with excess play
o/s front wishbone bush again excess play
n/s rear wishbone bush again excess play
And what gets my back up I only replaced the whole front end in July last year from idler to wishbones.
I also re-replace both wishbone rear bushes in November.
I also tightend the wishbones up with the car on its wheels.
My local motor factors is saying there going through suspension components like crazy.
Well rant over >:( >:( >:(

General Car Chat / tractor oil leak 2.5td
« on: 10 May 2010, 22:23:52 »
i know others out there have had a oil leak well dampness around the oil filter area.
I took the oil filter housing off the car took filter out and put the cap back on turned it upside down and filled it with warm oil and left it for an hour.
on my return i found that there was a hair-line crack in the alloy casting of the housing :o I cleaned it up with a fine abrasive (240grit) flapper disc on grinder and used defcon alloy epoxy to fill crack
tested it again no leak yipee ;)
I found it easyer to remove the steering idler gives easy access for removal :y
