« on: 19 March 2010, 18:58:54 »
Was at my local tip today and a H reg nova pulled up behind me burbling away.
on a closer look it had only 2 front seats the rear seats are now where the battery and roll cage are and yes a 3.2 under the hood [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif] [smiley=lolk.gif].
we couldn't chat much as we were told to get a move on >:( but it sounded lovely.
when I asked him how much it cost the answer was 5k plus :o he has lots of fun with scoobys and other fast cars as he said a cheeta in sloths clothing ;D ;D

General Car Chat / injector 4 from vauxhall
« on: 03 March 2010, 13:38:36 »
Went to two dealers today to price the injector.
first was in Grangemouth(evans halshaw) salesman was about as much use as a fart in a space suit anyway he quoted £157 plus vat :o and a 10 week wait roughly  :o ;D
and if I wanted trade price i'd have to got to bellshill.
Then went to Arnold Clark in stirling salesman was spot on he even said he's sold a few of these this year so far and the price £78.80 :) plus vat and a surcharge of £15 so you can say all in around £93 trade card accepted and they can have it in 2 days. :)

General Car Chat / diesel injector cleaning
« on: 24 January 2010, 15:44:34 »
I decided to remove the injectors from my tractor and clean them I also have 4 spares.
the engine ran like a bag of sh**e tryed diesel magic no change.
so I spent 4 hours today spliting the injectors and washed them in diesel when i say split i mean took injector to bits its very easy to do number 1,2and 6 were totaly cloged with black crap and it smelt of diesel magic there was far to much crap for the diesel magic to clean it runs so smooth now.
took it for a good blast up the motorway and done a paper clip test code 64 gone  :) :) :y

« on: 22 January 2010, 08:51:11 »
I dropped my son off at footie training last night and decided to wait.
whilst I was reading the paper after half an hour the interior light went off which was a first for me.
so at least if you leave the light on you won't have a flat battery in the morning.
you learn somthing new every day :y

General Car Chat / frozen washers solved
« on: 06 January 2010, 16:12:37 »
Hi all having put concentrated screen wash in the washers it froze (-13 last week) but I found a great solution.
I cut up a electric blanket to extract the heating element and wraped it round to washer bottle and pluged it into a 100watt (240v) invertor :o which sits next to the battery and re-routed the washer pipework via the rad instead of going up the wing.
The only snag is it takes about 30mins to defrost the bottle and I have to remember to switch it off and on.
As far as I can see in my meega is the washer jets only have a heated nozzle.
I drive trucks for a living and the fuel tanks have heater elements in it to warm up the fuel so it won't freeze :y
