It used to be the case that the minority would need to 'fit in' with the majority. Starting at a new school where you don't know anyone comes to mind.

I saw an article today where the law lords were asked to pontificate on whether hate speech in one's own home, say, at the dinner table, could be reported and acted upon. Mercifully, they said it shouldn't, or your wife may have had you arrested for calling her a.........(insert sexist tirade)
