Interchangable stereo systems?
« on: 25 June 2008, 19:10:44 »

Would I be able to change the sound sytem between an elite and a cd? The one in the elite is vile... and the cd is better and has MP3. I belive that it is relitively new.

Are there any how to guides for radio changing... or any links?

Thanks in anticipation peps  :y :y

The one in the Elite is probally a Bose type or at least a Phillips with separate Amps. Were as the CD one will probally be a single Head Unit with built in Amps,  So NO.

What Radio Models and what year we talking here.

In a 96 you will have an SC804...6 cd changer in the boot too?? No seperate amps...but there arent any Omega head units with MP3 so presumably the one in the CD is an aftermarket stereo which will need rewiring...

Well look on the bright side, whatever you change it to will be an improvement! ;)

Originally the 1996 Elite came with the SC804CDC and a 6 cd changer.
Optional extra was a small amp and 2 bass drivers mounted on the rear shelf. It was actually quite good.

The Delco is a truly horrible headunit but at least changing it will be simple. Just a case of remove (throw away) and plug in decent replacement (Pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood, JVC) :)

If you need specific instructions, PM me .
