I've just bought a carbon pollen filter and an air filter for 1/2 price (£12.49 in total, inc. delivery) using ECP's SUMMER70 discount code. Lots of other parts on discount, but not all on 50% off.
Ron.
-
There are never discounts at ECP, that's always the online price. Those parts will be the same price if they have 30% off or 90% off. They just piss around with the price to have these DFS style deals, never to be repeated. Until tomorrow.
-
Understood, but are the prices good anyway, or are there better places?
Ron.
-
Yes prices are good sometimes, but as said it’s just a con; last minute sale crap etc that’s on every day
Knock 35% 50% of course it’s nonsence.

You should be able to buy genuine for that :o

You were saying...
I know it's not the carbon one, but it's half what Ron paid. Various other genuine VX carbon ones are available on eBay for £12.95, but it's too late to ring anyone for a dealer price. :P
-
Was I ripped off? I paid £6.75 for the carbon pollen filter and £5.76 for the air filter, delivered.
Ron.
-
I used to get both, plus oil filter, six plugs and a drum of 10/40 for about £70
Certainly both of those from a dealer shouldn't be more than £15-25.
So no, you haven't been turned over as long as they deliver what you ordered... ;)

Ron got the carbon filter and air filter for £12.49 delivered. You shown me a non carbon filter and no air filter...... :-X
Can you genuinely go into a genuine VX dealer for those genuine items and genuinely pay less than Ron did? Of course not! ;D
Show me where you can buy the genuine items, like for like, for less than Ron has paid and I'll eat my hat! :y

My ECP filters were both by Crosland - are they a good make?

You won't notice any practical difference between a 'good' make and a bad one apart from the price.

No, its an OK price, cheaper than dealer by some margin.

I bought a Crosland pollen filter for one of my cars, but next time I'll spend a couple of quid more and get a better one. It doesn't fit that well, and although it claims to be carbonised, its borderline if it is.
The Mann one I bought for the Omega was a much better filter (on ECP's second attempt - first one was clearly 2nd hand), fitted nicely, and properly carbonised.

Great! Now we need a genuine carbon filter for £3.50! :)

I used Crosland filters (fuel, air and oil) about 12 months ago when I last serviced the Beemer, and about 8000 miles later it's fine. ;) When I service it again next month or so I'll get the same, unless another brand catches my eye! :y
